The course is fun and in pretty good shape!
The course is in good shape. The greens are not great, but relatively true. Multiple greens have holes that are not capped or capped with a foam noodle, so there are multiple holes per green. You can end up having to move your ball or lose a good shot by hitting a random hole on the green.
Glad to see the costs being properly maintained and renovated.
As cold and muddy the day we played still enjoyed the course
We will be back..
Course is in good condition. Greens are much better. They are true and smooth.
Untruthful,unfriendly
The website said the rate was $29. When we got there it was $32. if you doubled up and $37. if you followed corona virus guidelines and rode alone to maintain the 6 foot distance. When we questioned that they said it didn't matter the price was what the price was. When we questioned others riding alone on the course, they said the only paid $32. to ride alone. Guess since we had a good number golfers they could charge more.
Just kind of average
Have heard (and read) good things about Timber Truss so was looking forward to checking it out, and I have to say I left disappointed. It just had this real average blah kind of feel. Not real long from the Blue tees, most par 4's well under 400 yards kind of left you wanting more. Holes not real memorable, although I did like the par 5 12th - drive is over a large tree to a blind fairway to the right of the creek, kind of fun hole. Friendly staff, very well stocked pro shop with those motorbike looking single rider carts available. Walkable course although some long walks between holes. Conditions ok, some pretty chewed up parts of the course, but greens rolled nice. We played pretty quick on a Monday 10:24 tee time, 3+30. Looked like a nice snack bar at the turn, group ahead were munching on some rather tasty looking burgers. We had a nice time but don't know if it's compelling enough to come back w/Tunica Nat'l and Mirimichi down the road at a comparable price.
I expected it to be nice but I was blown away
It’s been about 2 years since I played here. 1st impression was the course maintenance seemed to have tightened up quite a lot. Tee boxes were very nice, approaches were well manicured, and greens rolled great. All in all a wonderful experience
Another fun round
I live in Lakeland and played Stonebridge twice a week prior to the new management took over. Searched for a new course and this course is by far the most enjoyable course in the area. Offers risk vs reward, scoring opportunities and a great pace of play.
Only knock is the lack of short game area, It would be great to have a place to putt and work on chipping.
My favorite local course!
Every time I have been the staff has been very friendly and willing to help. The grounds are well maintained. The carts are always clean and ready to go. Another big plus is that the carts have coolers attached to them! It's not very big but it's convenient. Great place to play!
Great course, friendly staff
Had a great time playing Timber Truss the other day. The course has a lot of character with a mixture of challenging holes and great views. The staff is friendly and welcoming and I will definitely be returning to play again
Great Course
One of my favorites in Memphis. Great layout, somewhat challenging and fun. The staff is fantastic. Great time.
Everything Good except the grass part.
Everything was fine, clubhouse, carts, scorecard, neighborhood, course design.... Except the actual grass, the most important part of golf, was horrible for a private club. The fairway was like playing from somebody’s abandoned backyard, couldn’t even make a divot for how thin the grass was and how hard the ground was. Bunkers were like playing on the surface of Mars. Greens were like a patchwork quilt made of Velcro and dirt.
Timber
The conditions on this course have come a long way. The greens are what I’ve noticed the most improvement, just walking on them has a completely different feel. Fairways cut down low all the way around make even an off T shot recoverable. Staff in the club house super welcoming. I’ll play a lot here this summer.
Needs Work
Greens not good. Many dead spots etc. Course needs a lot of grooming and was pretty wet everywhere.
