Not Happy
My group of 4 from Mid Carolina Country Club went to play The Walker Course at Clemson yesterday. It was a two hour drive and while the course is very nice we had issues. We were rained out after 7 holes. One of my group went to get us a rain check. We were given a rain check for 9 holes. This for my group was a pricey round. I did not find out about the 9 hole rain check until we were eating on my return trip. I called today to request an 18 hole replay. They took my name and number and told me the pro would call me. Later today someone from their golf shop called and said the pro said their “rule” was that If you had played 5 holes or more you would not get a rain check for the front nine. I explained about our lengthy trip to play their course but they didn’t care. They said we could come back and pay green fees plus a cart fee for the 9 holes we didn’t complete if we wanted to play 18. I am an experienced golfer who many years ago was an assistant pro at Oakmont and have never been treated by any course in my 71 years like this course. They appear to not be reasonable in light of our circumstances.
Absolutely stunning
Can’t wait to play this course again. Highly recommend to everyone.
Fantastic Public Course
Not quite a 5 star course but a solid 4.25. Would definitely play it again if I was in the area. Solid greens, bunkers, fairways, and tee boxes. Gorgeous scenery on some of the finishing holes and just a really fun layout.
Great layout
Course is still brown, but the greens are green and in good shape. Greens were firm and fast. It was a very windy day which made even tougher. Work is being done on hole 18 so it is playing as a par 3. Fairways are pretty wide and easier to keep the ball in play. Plenty of hills. Pace of play was slow as we were behind a large scramble outing. Very fun course to play.
Great Course!
Always wanted to play the course and have played twice this past year. Greens are in very good shape this early in the season. Fun course layout with a variety of tees. My two young sons find it playable from the Red/Silver(ages 7/9). Scenic views of the lake on the back 9. Not a Clemson fan but a fan of the course for sure! Worth the drive from Hartwell.
Great track
Of course was an excellent condition considering its third week in February. Greens are fast and true.
Nice day
To busy, slow play. Should have Sr days or hours, same with youth and pro times..
Awesome
First time playing here and I was extremely impressed. Will definitely be playing here again once everything is green. The layout is beautiful and pretty much wide open. The greens were pretty fast that day but overall no complaint.
Fun day uncrowded
Nice warm day in January to play golf. Course was pretty empty, but definitely in a winter condition. Car path only made a lot of walking and delay.
Greens in great shape. Rolling fast and true.
Only con was having to hit off mat of par two of the par 3's.
