Awesome City course
Challenging, course is in great shape!!!
Great deal for the price...highly recommend
TargetGolf
Very narrow fairways, if you're not hitting straight you will lose a lot of balls and get frustrated. Very scenic though, more enjoyable than a lot of the courses that play through houses. This is a desert experience.
Course knowledge
Great course for the money. Conditions were very good. First time playing so a little course knowledge would be a benefit. Will be back
Today was a good day
Showed up around noon to a full course but no ill effects from the mornings frost delay. Today was a good day. Fairways and greens in really good shape and even a ball in the trap has enough sand to play. Today was a good day….i did hit a few bad shots and messed around and got a triple bogey- but hey, weather great! Staff at course great! All in all,,,,,today was a really good day-
Practice facilities
The best practice facilities I have seen at any public course.
Driving range is well marked with yardages, they have duel greens, 1 for chipping and 1 for up to 50 yards with many different shot types available.
Golf balls for the range are very inexpensive.
City Courses are in Great Shape
This may be the best condition I have seen the Tucson City courses ever! A lot on actual sand in the traps would be wonderful. But overall wow!
Ready for winter
Everything looking good, greens rolling mid-fast , smooth, holding fine. Bunkers decent, cart paths can always use work. I think the best city course value, and nice scenery as well. Can play slow, as there are hazards and desert to avoid. Good bar and food if you have the time as well.
Might as well not have tee times
The course was in the best shape I've ever seen for a city of tucson course but the way it's managed is bad. I had to play behind an 8 some on the back 9 but thats probably due to a lack of ranger, but it was still quicker than the front. What might keep me from returning is the fact that I had a 2:23 tee time and I didn't tee off until almost 2:40 because the starter let a pair that didn't have a tee time go ahead of me at 2:23, and one of them was clearly a beginner that hit every shot as it lied, no dropping with your experienced partner. This continued for the entire front nine. You get what you get for $40 I guess.
Vast improvement
Fred Enke has undergone a vast improvement over the last couple of years. Tee box, fairways, and the greens were pretty close to excellent! Even the bunkers have been cleaned up. Brush and trees cut back. Looking forward to the next round of golf at Fred Enke!!!!
What a Challenge
From the first hole, a straightforward par four, to the last hole, a very difficult but straightforward par four, you are challenged with a desert variety of doglegs, changes of elevations and surrounding desert habitat. This course will challenge your skills in many ways but don't get bogged down, keep up with the group in front of you. It is probably the most difficult of the city courses but it is in very good shape and the greens will remain so if you fix your ball mark and one other one at every opportunity. Take good care of this gem and enjoy the challenges.
Great day
Course was in great shape. Beast round of the year.
