Needs love
Not even close to being in as good of shape as Randolph North or Dell Urich. The price is fair for what you are getting right now. It’s a fun layout but it just needs some love to get in better shape.
Shame on Tucson!
Played in March and was excellent. So I came back. It is understood the paint the fairway green was in its cycle. However, with over seeding the greens on the front were terrible and on the back just a bit better. Fairway had roll but impossible to hit off. Non fairway lies were a wing and a prayer. When the course conditions are this poor how can the cost be so high. Won’t be back!
The course was very nice
The tees and fairways were good but the greens were dryer but putted really good overall I’d play it again
I play this course often and enjoy, its always well maintained and nice staff. I had I two some booked this day and the other person didn't show and I had already paid for both. They accommodated me by allowing me t book an additional tee time for the next week so I would not loose my money.
I bit rough
We loved the layout of the course, but I believe this time of year( December )they do something called over seeding so the course is not optimal. Also the area received a lot of unusual rain the last couple days which added to the mess.
Fast Greens, Poor Overseed
I enjoy playing Silverbell since there are a nice mix of straightforward and fairly challenging homes. The greens were very fast, which was nice, but the overseed came in fairly poorly, so the fairways were in, as best, fair condition. Rather disappointing conditions for this time of year, and I suspect they won't get better with more play during the chilly months. We'll see.
Disappointing
Not sure if they over seeded this year. But the course was in "not good" shape. There was hardly any grass on the fairways. My drives were excellent as the ball had "extra" roll due to no grass. The short game suffered as it was difficult to get the ball in the air. The greens were quick, but in good shape.
Enjoyed our Round
We played Silverbell on a Sunday so did expect it to be a bit slower…..the cart girl was great she asked the group in front to let us through!!
The tee boxes and greens were in great shape. The fairways were okay but due to the rotation between City courses Silverbell did not overseed the fairways. We thought this was just fine and as water is becoming an issue everywhere, we as golfers should get used to this. If we want courses to play we have to except changes due to water restrictions which need to be in place.
So all in all it was a good day on a fun course.
Fast greens
The greens were extremely fast. Howver, I adjusted my stroke abd had a decent round.
Needs marshal
Usually play Silverbell a couple of times a year when in Tucson never again . Had four players behind us hit balls into our greens we were putting on twice then on ten a twosome with one set of clubs comes out of nowhere and neither could play .
Fairways were in fair condition. Greens were a bit too fast, after last time when they were slow!
