Oak Valley back 9 Photo submitted by VICRAZ7 on 12/09/2013
Great place to play a weekend round.
My two friends and I had an 8:56 am tee time. We arrived at the course and found out there was a frost delay until 9 am. Luckily there were only two groups of four waiting to tee off. No problem at all, went to the restaurant and had an excellent breakfast burrito. At approximately 9:30 AM, our group of three teed off with not a golfer in sight. Had a great time playing at Oak Valley for the first time. Course conditions were as to be expected for the winter months with fairways dormant. However the greens were in excellent condition and rolled true all day. Course layout was fun, challenging and would definitely return for a second time to play some shots differently. All in all a good experience and would definitely recommend someone to play this course.
Course is not mowed!
If you’re not in the fairway, you won’t find your ball. Just off fairway or near bunkers, ball is buried in grass, so basically 2 feet off the fairway, you won’t find your ball ir will be looking for it it forever when it’s right in front you
Good Golf course
Very nice golf course with some challenging hold, long par 4 and 5 need to be straight down the middle.
Me and my wife have golfed this course a couple times now very pretty lots of beautiful trees.
4 out of 5
Fun and challenging
I liked this course, the length, the beautiful surroundings and the challenge, however as several other reviewers had mentioned, if you miss the fairways or the green, it’s a possibility that you’ll your ball. I had a few shots were I was just off the fairway and knew about where my my ball landed but ended up not finding my ball. Can these areas get cut a little lower? It could speed up play( which wasn’t a problem for me on the day I played) but it was frustrating having to search for my ball several times.
I will play here again and recommend this course although it does need some maintenance
Oak Valley beautiful golf course
Me and my wife golfed Oak Valley for the first time very impressed. We are both average golfers and enjoyed a good round. Golf course was in very good shape fairway cut and greens very fast. Some challenging holes fairways narrow keeper down the middle and you do fine. Lots of up and down on holes with beautiful trees and scenery on many holes. One of the nicest golf courses we played on in the area at very reasonable rates.
HORRIBLE!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
This place is horrible! I have played many courses in this area and all over the Inland Empire and this is one of the worst! Lower end courses who are 50% cheaper have way better conditions then this place! Pace of play was the worst I have ever experienced with Marshalls present physically but unfortunately not mentally. They were too busy being parked reading a news paper as we saw it! If your going as far a Beaumont to play golf then do yourself a favor and play at Morongo or Yucaipa or better yet, just keep driving to Palm Springs area for a way better course and experience!
Oak Valley
Course is great. Only March so still quite “wintry”. Rough was up and greens were hard. Typical of this time of year
disappointed
Disappointed in the overall condition of the course. First time in 10+ years to play here. Rough was too long, fairways patchy. Greens OK
Very well kept
Very nice condition. Hard par 3 holes. Plays very long from the tips but the most challenging things are the greens.
Out of the rotation
Course is bad shape besides the greens. Fairways need a lot of work… Greens are like an ice rink and the rough is to thick. Almost impossible to find your ball anywhere around the green. Not fun looking for the ball in weeds and clovers. Management needs to step up and turn the course around if they want new customers. Never returning anytime soon or ever
Oak Valley
The course was in good shape. The rough was very rough. If you didn't hit the fairway, there was a good chance of losing your ball. The pace on the front nine was excellent. The pace on the second nine was very slow due to a 4 some that was extremely slow. The course is quite hilly and challenging but fair for a decent golfer.
Rough needs to be maintained. If ball goes any off fairway it is extremely difficult to find. Even when you know exactly where it is. This ruined the day for us always looking for our balls. Wont be going back.
Good course with devil weather
Fine course playing. Holes are well kept, greens roll very easy but are difficult to read. Fairways have real grass, which is very nice. We had to stop as the rain turned into hail and lightning. It may be thoughtful to adress shelters against the lightning while on the course.
Good experiences again
It was over 25-30 years ago I played Oak Valley the last time before I came here again this week.
Golf course was not as nice as it was before, looked a little running down and lack of good maintenance.
However the layout and holes and greens setting still very good and challenging.
If it was not on the way for my trip to Palm Springs, this golf course is quite far away from Los Angeles.
Bring Your "A" Game
Quick greens with lots of undulation. Approach shots require precision and there's generally difficult scoring conditions if you miss the green. Five tee boxes available. Don't bite off more than you can chew, or you may be in for a long afternoon when the wind kicks up. White tees, the middle set of the five available, has a rating comparable to championship tees at most other courses. Pin placements can be diabolical, so pay close attention to avoid the dreaded 3-jack biting you frequently. It's a fair test, but very challenging if you aren't dialed in.
Oak Valley
Overall the courses in pretty good shape, the fairways are pretty thin, but not too bad and the rough was tough but that’s a good thing, would recommend to go around the Golf there
