Dolphin Head Golf Course

A fun golf course, the greens were in great shape, fast and true. Management doesn't understand you can't have 5 minute tee times and expect people to enjoy their round. Got to a par three and there were 4 groups backed up to play. It took over 5 hours to play a round of golf! Ridiculous. I only recommend this course because it is in good condition and a nice layout. The cart staff and starter were friendly and apologetic, but Brown Golf Management needs to get its act together.

Course was in great condition, excellent layout . Pace of play was reasonable and not slow enough to bother our group. Greens slower than I remember them but that was good in a way as they were lightening quick last time.

Older course, very slow play, waited every shot. Ranger did nothing. Staff was great...golf experience not so much

Loved the course. On the first tee the personable starter introduced us to three of the “toothy” locals! Plenty of room in the fairways for the not so perfect drive. The greens rolled really nicely. A great day on first trip to Dolphin Head! Helpful staff and just a plain fun day of golf!!

Played on a chilly day so course wide open. Very nice course, plenty of challenges but not too hard. Attractive layout. Nice staff. I will go back sometime.

Temperature was max 50 degrees, welcome was much warmer and the course was in great winter shape. Not too many people playing on a cold day so we get round in good time

Acturacy is required to score blue tees good test leaving long irons to green s great shape and good layout

We were really impressed with this course and we are glad it's now open to the public .

Generally wide fairways and challenging but fair approach opportunities. Greens are in beautiful shape and fast, fast, fast -- nothing like what's back home -- so practice your putting if playing here. Weather was overcast but the course was in great condition. Played here last year and had plans to come back so was also happy to receive e-mail on special rates which made playing this fun and enjoyable course a great deal!

I booked as a single and was paired with another single who had never played there and couple from Canada who have probably played every course in the HH area over the last few years.

The starter was friendly and gave us our instructions, there was a ranger who circled the course numerous times, and until we reached the final 5 holes I don't think we waited much at all.

My group was a pleasure to play with, as we all played ready golf. and the course was in good shape considering the time of year, with the greens being the outstanding feature of this course.

I will play this course again when in the area, as being familiar with the course will be an advantage as there are numerous blind shots and some knowledge of the greens can help save a few shots.

I did score 84 which is about average for me , but I did hit a few bad shots and felt I could have been better. EX: the last par 3, I think # 17 needs to be played to the left side of the green as the front right is narrow and with the pin front right if you carry a little to long you are in trouble.

SO if you are playing for the first time just play to the middle of the green. That same day I think #16 was back left on a top shelf and a few yards from three sides of the green.

I had played Shipyard a few days earlier, and the tee boxes, and fairways were not as good as Dolphin Head and the greens were no where near the speed and condition.

Enjoyed our round at Dolphin Head. Course was in good shape and the greens rolled very true. Fair test of golf with a number of challenging holes. Staff was helpful all around. Always a nice game at Dolphin Head.

The best course we played in Hilton Head. Greens were very fast. Fairways and tee boxes were great. Will play it again when we return. Great value for the money.

Our foursome had some difficulty with gauging the speed of the greens. Hard to read putts.
