Great course, very slow play on Sunday afternoon

I love the Shipyard course with 3 different nines. The pace of play on a Sunday afternoon was very poor but I understand couples enjoy playing at this time of the week. We waited on every hole and I felt bad for the group in front as they were not very good and took many shots then eventually picked up. We left the course 6 holes early because we couldn't stand the wait. Greens were is great shape and the overseeded fairways are coming in nicely. Overall, great course, but way too crowded!

Poor customer service

The starter on this course was a little short with clients acted like he was doing us a favor by letting us play the person on the course checking golf cart numbers was very short and maybe he needs a new task
The course itself is way over played maybe they should take fewer players the second nine was horrible I know we still have some winter conditions but the course is unplayable in spots

Good but SLOW

Good But Slow. We had to walk off on #17 after 5 hours so we didn't miss our dinner reservation. I've heard the same story from friends who have played there

If they can solve this pace problem I would. Go back.

Wouldn't Let Me Walk

I've played the 3 nines at Shipyard before. The 27 hole track is nice, the greens are fast and true with subtle and not arduous slopes. However, there were bare patches near and sometimes on the edge of some of the greens. Most annoying were 2 things: 1) It wasn't crowded and I was the first one off but I was not allowed to walk,as a single (!), even though I offered to pay the full price with card, and 2) When I got to my back nine, even though there are 27 holes, the starter had sent people off of MY 2nd nine. Poor coordination on the starter's part. My home course also has 27 holes and the pro shop sends people off the 3rd nine so that the 2nd nine is empty when the early groups finish their first nine.

A great course

Typical southern golf course winter conditions prevail; In all this a great course layout, great greens and very fun to play. Is challenging but fair. Depending on which tees you will change the level of difficulty. The conditions are pretty good based on the dormant winter conditions. The greens rolled pretty and true. The staff is excellent at Shipyard. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend Shipyard.

Good value

Shipyard is a scenic course with lovely natural beauty. As of a very cool day in early February conditions on the fairways are rough. The ground is very hard and there isn’t much grass cover. It will improve soon.

Greens in great shape for early February

Nice course, challenging but fair. Fairways were brown as expected for early February, but greens were perfect. Tee boxes green too. Played alone, took my time , and got -R- done in 3 hours.

Enjoyed Shipyard

Great weather, course was in good shape. Round came with range balls which was a nice surprise. Got paired with some great folks which made the round even more enjoyable. Overall great value for the costs. Look forward to our next round on one of the other Heritage courses.
