Apache Creek Golf Club
About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Fairly decent place to play
Easy to find. Easy check in. Prices have remained affordable. Carts cleaned and with ball and club washer and sand bottles. Water for us at start. Water buckets for towels. Number of tees are fairly uneven. Fairways pretty good. Roughs with some grass. Lots of desert. Bunkers with dirt that is generally playable played in just over 4 hours. Can’t take carts to car. Seems like less people playing all ready. Sometimes difficult to turn left out of driveway late in the day
First and last time to play this course
The course condition was okay The pace of play was ridiculous. Waited forever on every hole never saw a ranger try to speed anything up. On the 7th it was so slow the guys in front of us were laying on the tee box waiting for the twosome in front of them to hit. It was ridiculous I would ask for a refund or a credit but I never want to play that course again. Absolutely worse round of golf ever.
Desert dominated course
The course I challenging to play, mostly due to fairways that are not obvious or visible when teeming off. Played a lot from the desert rocks. Greens were in nice shape. Fairways needed some work.
Pleasantly surprised
We were paired with another couple for the front nine and the group in front of us was very slow. The Marshall spoke with them and came to let us know that he had done so. Then he followed up again to reassure us that they were going to pick up their pace. it was great to have the Marshall do such an excellent job. We were just a twosome on the back nine and it was as if we had our own private golf course. We motored through the back nine and completed the round in under four hours.
The greens and surrounding aprons were in excellent shape. Greens were quite tricky, and we both had trouble reading our putts. It was a little difficult to figure out where the next hole was on several occasions.
Good Value
We played under a twilight rate which was good as well as the pace of play. Tee off at 2:10 and completed the round before 6:39pm.
I was dissappointed in the fairways We had to play the 90 degree rule, but I don't know why since they were in rough shape anyway.
Greens rolled very well and sand traps were good. All in all, a good day!
Desert golf
Desert course with virtually no rough. Somewhat difficult to know where to hit your drive on some holes. Greens in good shape. Fairways sketchy.
Beautiful course
Fairway and greens were lush, green and beautiful!
Least expensive course around
Easy to find. Easy check in. Carts can’t go to car. Clean carts with sand bottles and ball and club washers. Water at start. Water buckets for towels some tees getting beat and a number that are quite not level in spots. Fairways pretty good roughs with some grass but spotty. Bunkers actually have a little sand. Greens remain pretty good. Played in just under 4 sometimes difficult going left as you leave late in the day
Apache Creek is a great mix of green and desert
I was challenged with the desert landscape, but really enjoyed the course. Don't take the greens for granted either as none of them are easy. Pace of play was great.
don’t waste your time or money
horrible course even worse staff. Greens and tees had grass but the fairways were absolutely horrible. Paid $95 worth $40 tops.
Scenic course
This course offers some of the most beautiful sunsets with superstition mountain background. We didn’t tee off until 3pm with slow
Pace of play we only got to hole 14 before sunset. It was a fun course.
Wide open
Good course. Wide open fairways but stay off the desert landscape if you love your irons as much as I do.
Unexpected Surprise
The conditions of the tees, fairways, and greens was unexpectedly good. Off the fairway you will be on desert, rocks, etc. The course is just flat, back-and-forth golf. The starter was friendly, and water was provided to take out on the course. I booked a Hot Deal and managed to get it at $70. I don't think I would pay much more than that for this course.
