Apache Creek Golf Club
About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Wide open
Good course. Wide open fairways but stay off the desert landscape if you love your irons as much as I do.
Unexpected Surprise
The conditions of the tees, fairways, and greens was unexpectedly good. Off the fairway you will be on desert, rocks, etc. The course is just flat, back-and-forth golf. The starter was friendly, and water was provided to take out on the course. I booked a Hot Deal and managed to get it at $70. I don't think I would pay much more than that for this course.
Cloudy day
Course in decent condition, pace a bit slow on most holes. We were the first group out behind the Men's league. They were quite slow on the greens putting out at times. Maybe they don't play ready golf.
The weather was a bit cool at times as sky was overcast but rain stayed away. A good day was had by all.
Schmidt
Course was in poor shape at best. Didn't mind 10 minute wait at t-off. 3 some in front of us held up play. Ranger talked to them but it did no good. people behind us kept hitting into us. just not a good overall experience. Will not play this course again.
Greens fast, fairways bare
Front nine fairways bare grass, back nine better
Greens not heavy grass and fast
Enjoyed the design of back nine
A little pricey for conditions of course
True desert golf experience. The green complex and green surfaces very good.
Fairways a little sparse
Greens were in good condition, fairways not. Price way too high but where isn't it?
Terribly overpriced! Condition tee to green is very poor. Greens were decent, but not good. Definitely not worth $80. Max $50 golf course
Fairways a little sparse
Course is not in great shape. Fairways don't have a lot of grass on them, hence the reason for 90 degrees. Green's were in good shape though. Price was way too high, but that's basically everywhere.
Least expensive to play and pretty decent
Easy to find. Easy check in. Clean carts with sand bottles. Water for us at start. Water buckets for towels. Started a few minutes late but played in just under 4 hours. Tees fairly good but not always flat Fairways pretty good. Roughs with spotty grass or desert. Bunkers actually have some sand. Greens pretty good and almost always some curve. Can’t take carts to car. Sometimes difficult going left out of driveway at days end
Fun Course
The course has a good pace of play-ranger are watching both nines. Signing on where to go from hole to hole needs to be vastly improved.Staff is great and very helpful.
Poor conditions
The course is not in good shape right now, I suppose because of the recent rain and cool weather. The fairways are particularly poor as the existing grass is thin and patchy. The greens are in fairly good shape, which makes the course playable but it is not worth the high price right now.
Clueless Ranger
My friend and I booked here about 90 minutes prior, due to a great rate popping up. We got to the starter for our 1pm start and had 3 groups waiting to tee off in front of us. Mind you, it’s 5 minutes before 1 and they do 7 minute intervals. We get paired with a very nice pair of ladies, one in her 70’s the other was 81! After teeing off over 20 minutes late and having to wait in the hackers in front of us in number 2, the ranger had the nerve to tell us we were playing slow!! The group in front of us were not even on the green yet on the 3rd hole! The ladies we were playing with were playing fast ready golf, and my buddy and I both shoot high 80’s. I argued with the ranger as to where we were supposed to go? The next 2 holes he’s hiding behind bushes watching us!!! On about the 6th tee, I saw him watching and scorched one at the group in front of us. I came about 30 yards short, I knew I couldn’t reach them, but proved my point. The ranger then made them skip a hole. We were caught back up to them by hole 9! This ranger has no clue as to how his job should be done!
