Apache Creek Golf Club
About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

This course has a great layout
We teed off at our scheduled time and the pace was good-not rushed. Stay on the fairways😁
Great Value. Played in 4 hrs. Greens were in great shape. Lots of dirt and desert, if you are ok with that, the ball rolls like crazy !
Great greens!!!
Greens were fantastic!!!! Consistent, fast and true
The rest of the course is meh.
Much Improved
This was the 1st time we played the course this year. We were very impressed with how much the condition of the greens have improved! The overall condition of the course was also good. We will be back.
Fairs look good from afar but simply painted green. shots off the fairway were in a rocky desert base making shots impossible unless you were willing to sacrifice your clubs. Given what clubs cost these days it was a no brainer.
Traffic from highway made the environment very loud
Fairways
Fairways had no grass on them they painted fairways green. Just clay mud dead grass. Greens were great shape as well as sand traps
Painted Fairways
The greens were well manicured. There is only 50 yards of fairway in front of each green; otherwise you are hitting off some sort of hard pan weedy grass found as rough at most every other course. The bunkers have a mere 1/2 inch of top sand with hard pan underneath. Difficult to execute sand shots. Overall too difficult to execute shots under these course conditions.
Apache creek
Very slow pace of play. Greens and tee boxes good. Fair way is dead grass painted green. Only saw beverage cart 1 time. It was a good time but honestly course is rarely in good condition. By hole 15 they came out and pulled the flags and told us they were closing and we had to bring the carts in. Not sure why they offer tee times knowing they may close early or you may not finish
Fairway grass is painted green
My ball got green paint on it. Appears they overseeded greens and around greens and tee boxes. But, in between tees and greens it is dead Bermuda grass that is painted. Greens are nice
Transparency with the course conditions in advance and in pricing didn't exist. Both of us were overcharged for the round versus the confirmed price. Course conditions weren't great. (Fairways to be specific). Too many courses in the area to visit, thus won't be back.
Course management lazy
Unreal that AC charges premium rates and doesn’t use the monies to keep the course up. They have painted fairways instead of rye grass. Signage and markers not consistent or logical yet they made sure to snap at us about the 90 degree rule (why???).
I do not recommend. Not a good value for the price.
Pretty busy
Easy to find. Easy check in. Carts with ball and club washers and sand bottle s. Water at start. Water buckets for our towels. Tees some beat and often not flat. Fairways pretty good. Roughs wit thin grass true desert course. Greens seemed to always have a slight curve at the cup. Bunkers with pretty sparse sand. Played in 4:30. Can’t take carts to car. Sometimes hard to turn left when leaving late in the day. Getting fairly pricey as well
Do not play this course
At 5:15 ranger came by on home 12 to say he was taking out the pins ahead. Of us and carts needed to be in at 5:30 a full hour before it gets dark !
I called to complain and. Poke to some one who was very unprofessional said that it was posted on home 9 never saw it and he said I didn’t understand the super buys , he the hung up ! I would never play that course if it was the last course in Aro
Ilona !
Price
We paid way too much. Onaidering the fairways had not been overseeded. Greens were great and pace of play was great.
Average at best, needs some TLC
Fairways and greens were not lush at all (maybe due to Jan season) but compared to other courses this was very tough to play seeing as anything off the middle of the fairway was dirt or rock, not great for the clubs. If you are traveling and looking for something this is not the course to play IMO, pay a little more and get something of better quality.
