Service could use some help.
Second time playing the course and condition wise, I was impressed at the change over from when I last played in April. Service let me down from the moment i told them I brought my 10 yr, grandson, and let them know he wasn’t going to play shot for shot, and he’d only hit or putt when we had time, based on play: I worked at courses for 3 yrs, so know it can cause slow play if people are letting kids shoot 125, like a lot of adult on the course at the same time. But anyway I was told I could let him go with us but that juniors can’t play until after 1200 or so. They then had trouble figuring out how much to charge the 10yr, old,
U like the three other courses my Son brought his Son, where he wasn’t charged at all, due to age, Prescott decided to charge me $10. Ten really didn’t bother me because I already paid for three tee times, about $180.00 total. I do believe the employee who was assisting me wouldn’t had charged me, but the second person behind the counter (maybe manager,) seem intent on getting more money out of us.
Second issue, it taking 15-20 minutes to get two hot dogs and a pre made sandwich. And as long as that took, within two holes we had to watch and wait behind two groups. Only benefit of slow play, was we were able to let my grandson hit a few more shoots than we had expected.
Excellent
The fairways tea boxes and greens were in excellent shape! The staff really takes care of the course
Good Track
We had a great day on the course with exception to a foursome in front of that remained a least a full hole behind. Thankfully they let us go through on 10 and we were able to finish before the rain. Enjoyed a beer in the club after the round with great service. We will be back for sure.
First round at PGC
Had a window on the 4th to sneak in a round. I normally play Antelope Hills and have roughly 50 rounds there year to date.
Was impressed that PGC is GREEN as Antelope is badly burned out. Greens in great shape...soft and held well. Tee boxes in solid shape also. Finally, gas carts are nice!
While it was my first, it certainly won't be the last!
Only Open 6:30-4:00 n SUMMER!!!
Players are run off the course 1-1 1/2 hours before sundown!. It's not twilight golf, it's mid afternoon golf. You cant set a tee time before noon as all times are taken by leagues. BUT, it you try to miss the heat of the day and golf in late afternoon you will never get 18 holes in since they do not monitor the speed of play and will run you off the course starting at 6:30 PM. If golfing later in the day you also have to constantly wait for neighbors walking down the sides of the holes.
Our 4:30 tee time booked on line was then changed to 3:50 on the day of play (which we could not make)
The restaurant is often closed down and the food is terrible. Service is not trained to be friendly at all. We became members and totally regret our decision.
Greedy Golf Course
Played this course for 25 yrs. Latest management raised the green fees through the roof per all the new California transplants. Used to be you could play twilight at a fair price....not anymore. Now we play antelope south and north....happily!!
Not friendly!
Golf Pro was the most unfriendly person I have seen I. Years. I felt like he didn’t want us up there at all. I would recommend not to spend the money to go there just to get treated like a second class citizen. I had to bite my tongue several times will paying just to try and get out of the pro shop!
NIce local course
It is in good shape with a interesting design; solid public golf course. Greens are very good.
Wonderful
Wonderful course, very friendly playing partners, great staff and a fantastic experience
Solid spot
Made the drive up from Phoenix and it was worth it. The course was in great condition and the greens were in tip top shape. Great value for the price we paid (our tee time was 1:20). Hit the clubhouse afterwards for some food and it was delicious, pizza and club sandwich were great choices. Bartenders run a tight ship. Unfortunately there wasn’t a cart girl this round, but I’m sure when it’s busier. Front desk guys had no personality, tough crowd.
Drove up from the valley.
My friends and I drove up from the valley to give this course a try. I am glad we did. We had a great time. The fairways have enough grass to actually slide a wedge under the ball, which was refreshing. No thin lies here. The greens were fast and mostly all raised with a lot of undulations. The grass was a touch bumpy, but it was actual grass and not painted dirt like some of the valley courses. The greens would receive an approach shot without bouncing off like a few other courses I could mention. The rough was long and thick. It was difficult to get out of, so don’t hit it there. This is not a fancy Troon course, so don't expect anything like that. However, the course is very playable and a lot of fun. We had a great time and will be back. We did not go, but the restaurant looked to be open and the snack shack was open. There is a outside covered patio that over-looks the course to enjoy.
Nothing open
Course was awesome!! Incredible!! I would golf there again! But, if you plan on golfing before 10am, Eat breakfast and bring your own coffee because nothing is there before 10am. No breakfast, no coffee, and no Gatorade. But course was awesome!! RT
