Good value...
Course is is pretty good condition overall, some dead spots through the fairway but it's April so to be expected but greens were excellent, ran true for the most part. Some greens were slower than normal, some faster. Not sure any were as fast as the practice green however.
Fairways in good shape, rough was the norm, not thick or heavy but enough to change shots.
As far as the bar, food smelled good but I didn't eat... HOWEVER, $8 for a beer & $7 for a crown/ginger is absolutely spectacular in these times. I'd play the course again just for the cheap drinks albeit I generally don't drink but 1 or 2 til the back 9.
The 1 big upside or downside is the wind. Not sure if it's daily in Kingman or on the course like that but it was blowing like we lived in Chicago. I played the 1st 5 holes from the tips but after 5 holes of virtually dead into or cross winds sustained at like 25 & gusting to 40+ I moved back to the regular tees. A par 5 586 yard hole took me nutting a drive, 5 wood/5 wood & was still just short of the hole a few yards - not into the wind would've been driver/5wood/7iron id guess on a normal day or down wind...
Pace of play was kaput too, 5somes & newer players holding up play, didn't seem anyone was playing through but worth the value overall.
Always a Challenge
This course is always a challenge particularly if the wind is blowing. The greens can be tricky but true. The last three holes are a hoot.
The grill offers some good food at reasonable prices. Locals are lucky to have this course and visitors to the area should play it as well>
fun layout
We have played this course a few times. It tends to be slow, with singles allowed out and new golfers. I support new golfers but they need to keep up to the group in front. And singles should never be allowed out in a peek time (11 am) .
On a plus note, I do love the layout.
Great, well priced course.
Really enjoyed our round. This was our 2nd time playing this course, it is much more enjoyable when you know the layout of the holes.
Great Golf Course
Great round of golf. The course is in good condition. Greens were quick, sand traps were well groomed and hand nice sand in them. This is a course you need to play more then once so you know the layout of the holes. Great staff, nice club house. Only drawback was the lack of signage to find a couple of the holes. Really enjoyed our round.
Fun to play!
Great staff, beautiful coarse, most of the greens were good some had weeds, fast greens. Love their hotdogs! Looking forward to playing next week.
Probably a really nice course in season
Nice course. I played it in the middle of winter so not fair of me to rate conditions. The layout from hole to hole is a little clunky. Greens were typical of winter condition I’m guessing. The staff were super friendly and very nice. I definitely will play it again in season. I would recommend it for all level of players as there are tee boxes to fit everyone.
Great value
Very nice course, very good condition, greens are quick, people nice. Great value
Fun Layout
Interesting lay out. In fact, if you are not careful and make a wrong turn, you may get lost as it winds through the neighborhood.
Several memorable holes with the various rock outcroppings and views.
Greens are deceptively quick and tricky.
Great course and great value for your money
Drove by here many times seeing it from I40, and often wondered about it. Found myself actually staying in the area and decided to play. I was a single and asked to join the group in front of me, which they were happy to allow me.to join. Great course, loved the greens and the layout. The geoup I joined gave me some tops at the tee boxes as I am unfamiliar. There were a few holes with blind tee shots, dog leg lefts, etc. Appreciated that. Greens were well rolled, and found them challenging compared to my normal courses I play...and they were fast. Would gladly play this course again.
