What a community course should look like
Dobson Ranch is all about fun, and if the game of golf wants to grow, this course should be the model. I saw more young people at this course than anywhere else I have ever been. But the relaxed environment does not translate into sloppy conditions. The layout is ordinary, but well-kept. The pace was good and staff were friendly, efficient and disciplined. The course is a very good deal for the price. The only down-side was difficulty in getting a tee-time. The place is popular, which makes tee times a competitive endeavor.
Love this course
One of my favorite lower budget courses, always in great shape. The practice facility is 2nd to none.
Dobson Ranch
Very nice course with friendly employees and a great little clubhouse/restaurant. We enjoyed this course. Marshall’s came around to ensure everyone got the dust storm advisory and advised of actions to take. Highly recommend this course.
Great course!
The course was in great shape and the practice facility the best in the valley!
Fun course
Course in good shape overall. Pace was a bit slow but tolerable. Staff was very friendly. Will play again
The staff and course is great!
Our 12 guys golf trip was great! We love this course so much we played it twice in 6 days! Thank you Dobson Ranch staff for treating us so good!
Dobson golf
Overall the course was in good condition. Pace of play was bad, too many tee times and waited for on every hole. Group in front had 2 holes open. Ranger did talk with them but said they were playing as fast as they could. Said we could skip ahead of them but then of course we only play 16-17 holes of golf. Course is nice, tight but in good shape.
Great Condition & Fast Greens
The course is in excellent condition, greens are perfect and very fast. If at all possible, don't get above the hole or a side hill lie on the green. Your putt may race past the hole 10-15 feet. I hadn't played this course in many years, it was always a good course, but now I believe it's as good or better than most of the privately owned upscale courses and some country clubs in the greater Phoenix area. You have to love the driving range with tracers too. The overall experience is great, there are many things to do at this facility; grab lunch, practice putting and chipping on the practice greens, play corn hole, and ping pong. I could stay here all day.
Enjoyed
Pace was a little slow….course in good shape…fun course
Disappointed
The tee boxes were so hard you could barely get a tee in the ground. The 10th hole was completely covered in range balls all 4 of us had to search for our drives which were in the fairway. The greens need to be watered…..
Good Winter Round at a Fair Price
For those who don't want to get crushed by the sheer greed that has manifested itself in many of the Phoenix-Metro golf courses, this is the course for you. It's still one of the very few local tracks that won't set you back $200 or $300. Are you listening Scottsdale? The course is not overly challenging, but the layout is classic and the conditions are fair. Bunkers were good, but the greens were a tad slow for my liking...probably rolling about 8.5...but a smooth 8.5. The ranger and the pro shop staff are as good as it gets. The cart-girl was very pleasant and available throughout the round. If you want the best value for your money, then I would recommend this round over a round at any of the $300-$500 rounds in Scottsdale. You may not get the views or scenery, but you'll have enough left over to get lunch and a new wedge or putter after you round at Dobson. Also, an added bonus to Dobson over many other courses, is the new upgrades they've made to their driving range. I'm not much of a "range guy", but if you want the benefit of metrics on your shots while you practice, this is a great place to go for that reason alone. Well done, Dobson.
