Silver Oak Golf Course
About
The centerpiece of the Silver Oak residential community in Northwest Carson City and just a 25-minute drive from the Reno, Silver Oak Golf Course is part of what makes the High Sierra a world-class golf destination.
Playing to 6,392 yards and with five sets of tees, Silver Oaks is a course where both a scratch golfer and a high-handicapper can find a challenge. An intriguing layout that highlights the nearby Sierra Foothills, Silver Oaks will test a players game while offering scenic beauty.
With a very respectable slope rating of 130, players will need to bring their game to score low. But even better than the interesting design and scenic qualities is the green fees. You'll rarely need to fork over more than $30 to play this respected 18-hole championship golf course that includes top-of-line practice facilities.

A warm sunny day in February
The course was in good shape for this time of year
Windy day
It was a good challenge. The greens were a little slow but other than that our group enjoyed themselves.
Silver Oak
Went out I think they said 1/16 nice weather for Jan. Me and a good friend course was in winter shape, but not bad the grass is dormant greens are watered. It was Jan.,in northern Nevada and I was golfing, it was a wonderful day.
This course is for everyone! Long hitters will be using wedge or 9 nine iron on many approach shots!
Silver Oak isn't a long course but it does require precision approach shots if you want to score. There are several huge greens so if you hit the wrong section you could be looking at a few three putts. Overall the course was in good shape. Greens were nice for November although uphill putts are extremely slow! Both nines are very different. Front nine you will rarely see any homes. Back nine you wander through some residential communties. Overall a very enjoyable round of golf!
The greens were like carpet!!!
Considering the time of year, temperature and weather, I can't believe the condition this course is still in! What a pleasure playing!
Cooler day golf
Course is in remarkable condition. Was almost empty due to "cold temps" but the day turned out to be great. The greens and fairways were in awesome condition. Some easy holes with some challenging ones as well.
This course is great to grip it and rip it.
Big hitters can tee it up from the black tees. The hazards are fair even from the blue. Most greens are elevated. Putt well and enjoy the view.
chilly but nice enjoyable round
1/2 hr delay due to frost, lady in pro shop gave us free small range tokens( nice), course was in good condition, flat back nine is much more traditonal golf than major steep hills on front nine, enjoyed the round albeit a bit chilly with the wind factor
Always fun to play
I play Silver Oak 1 to 2 times a year when i stay in Carson City. Good course, front nine in the desert, back nine through residential. Of all the Carson City area courses, this is probably my favorite. The pace of play was slow this time. Seems to be the way things are these days. I look forward to my next visit.
Very well maintained. In great shape for October. No crowds on a Friday.
We played Friday morning at 10 and had the course to ourselves (two-some). Course in great shape for mid-October. Greens smooth and true. I had left my driver at home and they loaned me a new Ping for the day. Very friendly staff. Recommend highly; if you like a desert links layout the front nine has everything you could want.
The course has many unique holes
This course will challenge your putting skills. The greens were fast and had subtle variances to make it challenging. The course is in great shape.
The front nine features elevated t-boxes and greens which add to the difficulty. The back nine has four holes with water features that will get your attention.
this is a very friendly, but challenging course.
I came to play the course on Saturday, thinking it will be a slower round of golf. As usual I was running late, checked in and headed to the 1st tee box. I was paired with another person and the 2 of us tee off. There was a foursome in fromt of us who let us play through on the 3rd hole. We really never had to wait the rest of the day.
Fun golf course
Overall, course was in good shape, greens we rolling well and in good condition.
Layout has some challenging holes.
Only negative, back side had alot of geese, and remnants!
I will play again!
Interesting course
The front nine goes up and down the side of hills but quite playable. the back nine goes through a subdivision and is mostly flat. It made for interesting and moderately challenging play.
Pleasantly surprised
Course was in pretty good shape. Very picturesque and well routed cut into the side of a mountain. Fairways, greens, and tee boxes all great. Short course but challenging from the back tees in windy conditions.
Great value
The Course was in great shape for this time of year
Challenging
Front 9 is very challenging, but worth playing. I will play it again.
Overall well maintained as usual
Have played the course quite a few times over a 5+ year period and have found it to be in good condition most of the time.
nice
Course was in good shape, greens rolled well.
Good cart service;
Interesting contrast between front and back nine.
Course is golfer friendly
Always enjoy playing Silver Oak's Golf Course, it's challenging
but still forgiving for your average golfer. Staff was very friendly
and helpful!!!!
