The Championship Course at Incline Village will challenge golfers of all levels, and leave even scratch golfers breathless with a slope rating that tops 140. Combining amazing scenery with demanding golf action, the Championship Course is high on the list of traveling golfers looking for the best from their High Sierra golf package.

Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course received a facelift in 2003, courtesy of golf course architect Kyle Phillips. The nearly $5 million renovation reinvigorated the course, which demands accuracy, as well as giving players risk-reward opportunities over trees and bunkers.

With two golf courses - the Championship and Mountain courses - Incline Village offers something for all level of golfer, and offers outstanding service and conditioning, as well as top-notch practice facilities, making it a highlight for a High Sierra golf vacation.

Great Course!

I came to Tahoe to specifically play Edgewood because I had seen it in TV. Found out about Incline Village and boy am I glad I did. This place is extremely challenging and blows away Edgewood which I also played. Edgewood is an overpriced resort course. Wide open fairways and blah greens. The Championship course is tight with elevation changes and dog legs galore. Bring your big boy clubs. Only downside, no cart girl or water in the course. Yes we were the last tee time at 2:40 but this is inexcusable. Apparently this is the norm here. Very silly for such cheapness at such an upscale club. Also pace of play was very slow. This place is a must play in Tahoe. You can play here twice for the cost of Edgewood which is nothing special.

What championship???

Get a grip somewhere else if you are a single! I play a course that has been hosting REAL Championships for decades and single can make advance tee times as a single golfer. But not this uppity course that has never hosted a REAL Championship. Over priced and hideous customer service for golfers who don't come in large or small groups. If you vacation in the region and want to play as a single golfer, I suggest the Carson Valley courses for values and South Lake Tahoe course for convenience if you stay in the southern portions of the lake. Just blow this place off....there is far better to be found with far more golfer friendly tee time terms and costs. Crimminy, Lakewood even permits advanced tee time for singles and has even more beautiful vistas than these pompus Incline courses!

Great Course just shy of a 5 star experience

Great layout with some great views.
Friendly staff. Great food!

We played in an on and off rain but the course handled it very well. Good cart, smooth with GPS to pin which is always a plus. Excellent bunker conditions In and all around. They are also well placed as would be expected of Robert Trent Jones Sr! I assure you that you almost certainly find yourself in at least one! Excellent, well-manicured greens that rolled fast and true even when wet. Nice tee boxes and some very gnarly and penal deep rough here and there where you would expect it.

So the course itself... (the most important part) is overall a winner and I would definitely recommend it.... but at the price, I would expect just a touch better golf club experience overall off and around the course. such as there was no cart service today. The attendant was sick, sadly, and apparently there wasn't a soul that could serve instead. It's not a huge problem, just an unfortunate circumstance that would be better if it wasn't.
Bathrooms, which can be a notable part of any golf course experience, were average.... at best...definitely not a top level Golf Club experience.
This leads to the driving range situation. It's not good at all. Actually it's just bad. Mats only happens at places but this appears to be mats only always. Balls are in bad to awful shape. Top it off with not really bing able to tee up a driver. First, there is no way to set a tee. Secondly, the range maxes out at just over 200 yards! I was charged extra for the balls but honestly, this range should be included free of additional charge. Yes, it's that bad and I would definitely not use that "amenity" again.
All things considered, since GolfPass doesn't provide the ability to submit partial stars I've reached a point where I have to reserve the "5" for courses that excel in all areas at a relative price point. So here I had to knock it down to 4 when it could have been a solid 4.5 otherwise.
Still definitely recommended and I hope to play it again one day.

A little overrated

Played 10 courses over 6 days in the area and this was my 9th favorite course out of 10. Had heard such great things but it wasn't spectacular at all. No real lake views. No incredible holes. Nothing visually appealing. Was in Good shape and I have no major complaints which is why it still gets 4 stars... I was just expecting more out of it.

Nice course but lacking bathroom access in pm

The course is in pretty good condition. The layout was great and very pretty with a big trees. We teed off at 4 o’clock and made the turn at 6 pm but all the bathrooms were locked at the clubhouse. That would have been ok if the course bathroom on back nine was open, it was not. So if you’re a female teeing off later in the afternoon, beware.

Sloooooooooooooow.

INCREDIBLE Course. Very challenging. Pace of play, cattle herding. If you’re going to charge that premium, the Marshall needs to do his dang job. There’s no reason we should be forced to play a 5 hour round. Holiday weekend: OG: 4, Grays: 4.2,, Incline 5.5??? Kudos to the staff. Everybody was great. But let’s be very clear, if you’re going to charge that amount of money, you need to keep the pace of play.

Challenging

Great course that offered a lot of challenge. Tees, fairway, bunkers, and greens were in excellent shape. Golf carts with GPS were a big help. Course layout required GPS/map to play effectively
