Slow play
After a few holes and catching up to the group ahead of us, we waited 5 minutes for every shot. We waited for 10 minutes to tee off most times. The course placed fivesomes in front of twosomes in front of foursomes and no greens marshals were around to monitor play. We quit after 14 holes and 4 hours into the round. The course was in good shape. Can't remember the last time we bailed on a round because of slow play.
Good Municipal Course
This is in pretty good shape after a hot summer. I enjoyed playing there and will definitely try to play it again. The greens are a little slow but are in good shape
First Time to Play Lake Arlington
Great Course for the price, enjoyed the views and the challenging greens!
Look forward to playing again soon!
Lake Arlington
The greens are good right now. The rough was very thick and difficult to get through. Pace of Play was 5 hours.
Good practice course
Had a pretty good round. Although they could use a marshall. Got through the front nine in two hours. The back nine was close to 3.
Tricky Dickey Greens
Said I would never return to this course. Glad I did!
Greens were is wonderful shape - very grainy and very fast with the grain. I really had a hard time with the
subtle movements. Missed four real birdie putts. Fairways were also in good condition. They say that back side is harder than the front, but I played it much better. Be careful of the fairway pond on #3. A good drive with just a little too much fade will put you in it. So, a 3 wood is probably, even a. duffer's, best choice of club. If you can, go over the trees left, at #8. Leaves you only a 50 yard chip. It is easy to hit through the fairway on #12 and #13. With no wind, take two clubs less and maybe three on#14. There are no bathrooms on the course that I found. And, the water hydrants are very inconspicuously located. Over-all, I like this course.
Never again....
I've always had bad experiences at this course in the past but decided to give it one more try against my better judgment. They always overbook and run 20-30 minutes late off the first tee, and the pace continues to crawl for all 18 holes. As a result, our tee time was at ten AM but we didn't leave the course until after 3:30! But the pace of play isn't even as bad as the clubhouse staff, who are rude, entitled and arrogant.
Nice For A Friday Afternoon
Had a nice time playing in the afternoon. Not very busy at all. Fast Fast greens!!!!! Some open fairways and some narrow one's. Provides some challenges. Nice course for all levels of play.
Lake Arlington GC
good course, good rate, good fun, went after heavy rain, course held up nice.
Terrible customer service!!!
Where do I start! First off the guy in the pro shop has terrible customer service skills. He refused to give me a cart even though I prepayed my tee time through golf now. I was there 15 before my tee time but he told me I had to wait until he figured out where all the people on the course was at. He then began to tell me that people have not payed him before that's why he didn't give me a cart. I told him a prepayed and he still refused to give me a cart. Every time I play this course the same guy in the pro shop gives me a hard time. Great course. Management definitely needs to address this issue with this guy!
Decent course.
Pace of play sucked. No Marshall. Greens were o.k.
great course for a good round of golf.
Enjoyed my round of golf at this course. Moderate challenge for our group.
simplicity
Simple course but has its own challenges and had a good pace . Will definitely play there again.
looking good
overall good condition. Some tee boxes were unlevel, but that would be my only complaint.
Bang for your buck
Rains have helped get this course in better shape. Tee time at 7:30 AM on a Saturday morning with a walking rate (on a walkable shorter course) was $30. Played in less than 4 hours too.
Great for a fun round!
Lake Arlington Golf Course is a course that I've played for 40 years and always enjoy it. It's not overly hard, but it's not a pushover and it's in very good condition. Played 18 holes on Friday in 3 hours with a very good flow. Front side is fun; backside is challenging but has a couple of really pretty holes. Modifications to the course and facilities are a definite positive. Lot's of trees! You will need to work the ball!
Good value, fun course
Lake Arlington is a fun course to play and is not too difficult for any skill level. The back nine is really interesting with a big elevation change and views of the lake. The only complaint I have is that I have experienced unfriendly staff in the proshop on several occasions. They are particularly rude when it comes to bringing younger people to the course (my son for example)...its as though they think the place is an exclusive private club instead of a public municipal.
Still Lake Arlington
I've been playing Lake Arlington for well over a decade and it's never disappointing. First time playing since the greens were redone. I will return most definitely.
Decent Course, Limited Amenities
I played Lake Arlington for the first tme this past weekend. Overall, it was a good experience on a decent course. Pace of play was good. Fairways are open. Greens were pretty fast due to the season and the fact that the grass hasn't fully grown in yet. The areas in front of most of the greens were pretty "sloshy", so if your approach shot is short, you will get no roll up on to the green. I also found out upon arrival that this course has no range. Being a mediocre golfer, that didn't make for the best day out on the course. They do have chipping and putting greens, however. I was also disappointed that there were no cart girls to provide drinks or snacks. This is not a bad course, but there are definitely better options for your dollar in the area.
