The Olympic at Gold Mountain Golf Course
About
Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington offers two championship courses, the Olympic and Cascade, both of which are known as two of the best public courses in the greater Seattle area. The Olympic Course is the more challenging of the two with more hills and water hazards. Dramatically sculpted from the thick Pacific Northwest forest, the driving corridors are surprisingly generous. Towering evergreens line the fairways and there are significant elevation changes throughout, making it a complete workout to walk the course. The layout's most challenging element is the undulating greens, which are often guarded by bunkers and mounding. The final four holes are the most memorable featuring a combination of water, trees, and stunning views. The final hole on the Olympic Course is a drivable par 4 that is the perfect finish to your round.

Always a favorite
Gold Mountain has always been one of my top 5 favorite courses in Washington. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, the practice area has everything you need and the course conditions are always spot on. The pricing is great. The greens were a tiny bit bumppy but were plenty fast and rolled fairly true. The fairways were pristine and the scenery is beautiful. I will always give this course high marks and recommend it to all golfers it is a must play if you have never been before, and a no brainer to and into your rotation of courses you frequent.
lots of character
I really enjoyed my experience at this challenging and beautiful course. Lots of character and hole variety, but not overwhelming for an intermediate golfer. A little bit busy at times, but overall a very enjoyable experience.
Great Times
It took 4 hours & 33 minutes to Golf the Cascadee course for a sunny Friday not too bad. Gold Mt is my top pick do to the course location from Gig Harbor and staff, restragant, and course conditions
Great round
Course was in excellent shape. We were a little bunched up at times but kept a perfect pace. I find 1I and 18 a little quirky. But overall a fun and challenging course.
Beautiful and challenging course.
The play that day was very slow, lots of waiting at just about every T-box. Even though all 4 of us riding, the round still took 5 hours.Still had a great time despite my poor showing, excellent fast greens.
Out of towners it's a must visit
For non-locals, it couldn't be better for enjoying the beauty of the Northwest. Great shape and beautiful hills, views and layout.
Excellent course
Challenging and beautiful. Greens rolled about 11 on the stimp meter.they were fast and true. Played twilight, started at 4:36 finished at 8:30. Great place to play.
Not recommend this course
Course is good but staff is terrible
Great day of golf
The greens were really nice. Well marked golf course for yardage. I like the real grass practice range. It's a little bit of a drive, but the pace of play makes up for it. Great day of golf.
Great course with fast greens
First time playing this year. Course was in great shape. Lots of elevation change and blind shots. Definitely easier if you have played before. The greens were fast with lots of slope and breaks. I have played both courses and the Olympic is the better and more challenging of the two. I will definitely play here again.
Suoer day out
Will defiantly play this again when in area again.
Six Hour Round During Middle of Week!
We had a 1:27pm tee time with a great GolfNow price which made the 1 hour drive from Lacey worth the trip. Were started on the 10th hole with three other groups stacked up that belonged to a men's club. No starter to control flow. Men's club had at least 8 foursomes in front of us. When asked what their tee time was, they had no clue. There was a three group stack-up at each par 3. Men's group were playing in a league so every putt was marked, remarked, and rechecked causing agonizing delays. No marshal on the course to speed things along. Why didn't the pro shop put non-men's club players on the first tee? The course itself was in great shape. Fairways were green and lush. Tee boxes were level even for the women's tees. Green were in excellent condition but very fast and unnecessarily mounded with high spots and low troughs making every green a potential three put or more disaster. If you want the PGA experience of missing a putt from 2 feet away because of speed and slope, this is your course.
Gold Mountain Courses 36 Holes in One Day :--))
I decided to go have a round at Gold Mountain. I used GolfNow to book with GM. The Transaction worked perfectly. I copied my Course Confirmation # and presented it to the Staff at the Pro Shop and poof I was set for a tee time.
I purchased a large bucket of balls to loosen up at the driving range while I awaited my tee time. I figured that I'd get a little putting in as well.
The driving range was on the course grounds so it was real time, which I believe helps immensely with driving and chipping since it matches the terrain that we were about to play a round on.
They also had at least 3 different areas for putting and one that was right close to the beginning hole on each course. Perfect for warming up before Go Time! :--))
The kart was in great condition... no troubles... no worries.
Whil at the driving range; however, keep a watch out for the THIEVING BIRDS. They swoop into kart and steal food while the Golfer is warming up driving or putting. They also sneak attack during round play. (Darn varmits) I lost life savers and a yummy chocolate muffin to them. I won't next time. LOL
The course itself is just stunning to see and play. Beautiful sights surround us during play.
The fairways were in great condition and play well also. The roughs were mostly well tamed too. The greens were VERY FAST, but at this time bumpy from being recently treated. Nonetheless I sank at least 5 putts from more than 20 feet so they were pretty true to form. Sand traps were also in great condition and placed wonderfully as challenges go. Water hazards only come into play on terrible hits but they ARE THERE to keep us focused. If not... we'll get to hear that good ole PLUNK sound LOL ahahha... let's hope not!
I ended up playing with a Fatherr and Son twosome... I was alone. They happend to have witnessed one of my 30 foot putts, which was a successful birdie. And they opted to join me for the rest of the round, and we ended up playing the second course at GM as well.
It was a wonderful experience and I'll be playing there again for sure. It's like playing in Heaven it's so beautiful.
My only complaint is the asphalt cart paths... severally BUMPY and caused me to lose my coffee twice. Iron those out and the course has NO flaws. :--))
I tip my hat to the staff as well. They were very kind always.
Always, N.I.S --> (Nicholas In Seattle)
Fantastic Golf Curse
Played many courses in the world but Gold Mountain hits the top of my list. As a female golfer, "Ladies who seeks the challenge to golf" you have to play at this course. Staff, scenery, course, this place is top notch!!
A course you want to play at more often than not. Ladies, if you have the desire to learn the basics to golf. Send me an email. Gold Mountain will be an awesome place for you to learn.
Awsome course and challenging
Nice and challenging course. Condition great
Perfect is all u can say
Perfect in all aspects!!!!
Fun Track
The course was in immaculate condition today! The guys I was paired with said today's conditions were the norm. Course knowledge is very valuable as tips from my playing partners kept me away from hidden trouble that would've cost several strokes.
The course is very hilly. I am in pretty good physical condition but the walk was quite demanding at times. My heart rate was very high upon reaching several tee boxes and greens. A few more water stations would be nice.
Several beautiful holes, lots of trees. Fun course for the cerebral player.
I showed up too late to use the practice facilities but there were a couple nice putting greens, chipping area, and grass-tee driving range.
Easily accessible from West Seattle using Southworth Ferry.
New Home Course
My wife and I moved to Gig Harbor, WA and everyone said I needed to play the Gold Mountain Olympic course. Well, as of Thursday I've now played the course 5 times and I have to say, I love this course!
I'm a scratch player and have pushed back to the gold tees for my past 3 rounds and have shot 74, 79, 75 with the middle round being played in the driving rain and wind. If the first hole has a white flag be prepared because it means most of the toughest holes will have blue flags and you're in for a real test!
The fairways are great and the greens have recently been punched but they're coming back quick and putt really well.
As a former So Cal player my only criticism of this and many other PNW course's is that they do not keep divot repair mix on the carts. My ball found 7 fairway divots on Thursday which is odd I know but if these had been filled by the player who made them not only would the divots come back quicker, but balls hit low and hot would more than likely roll past them.
Other than that it's a great track and the staff is really cool. Want a true test? Get out there and give it a try.
What did the staff do to make you so upset?
