Great place to play
The course is fun, interesting and not too challenging but not boring. The whole place is well kept by the staff but the players don't seem to respect the grounds which is a shame. I've never seen more unfixed ball marks on greens or ignored divots. It's the only thing that wasn't perfect.
Still, it is among my fav places to play golf in the area.

Love this course. Highly recommend!
This is our home course. We typically switch off between Phillips and Fox Bend, but Phillips is way better in many ways.
Great driving range. Can always use driver (unlike Fox Bend). Good number of hitting stations. Well marked distances.
Great value. Great course for the price. Even better since getting new carts with GPS!!
Course is always in great shape. Pace of play has very rarely been an issue.
Plenty of amenities at the clubhouse.
Water jugs and ball washers throughout course! Surprisingly, this has been hard to find at other courses, especially since the pandemic. I will say, some of the ball washers are broken and need to be replaced, though. Please check this. Other than this, only issue we had (and this happened on a couple different holes this day) was that our drives literally got no roll out. They hit the fairway and either stuck where they landed, or even rolled back a yard or two. It hadn't rained for a while, so I'm guessing this was due to over watering? These were not pop-up shots either. A little frustrating, but only encountered this that one day.
Highly recommend this course. Best quality for the price in the whole area. Keep up the great work!

Pretty good for a muni
It's a fun course. Enough challenge to keep you honest, but it won't break you. Some nice rolling topography on the back 9. The greens were smooth and a nice speed. Would have been nice to have a drink cart on Labor Day weekend. Beers in the clubhouse were reasonably priced. Overhanging limbs on holes 7, 9, 11 were very much in play.

Nice Course
We played Phillips Park for the first time back in Mid June. Now we have been back five times that should say something. Course has always been in great condition and pace of play is always between 330 and 4 hours on a Saturday quicker during the week. The price for a Saturday is $58 and that is a a primetime 630am tee time. Greens roll true and fairways are in good shape. Not a long course bit you have to hit your targets. Tee boxes could have used a cut the day we played very minor complaint.

Need to turn the water off
They need to turn the sprinklers off sooner if they have early tee times. Fought the sprinklers for the first 6 holes off and on. Besides that course was in pretty good shape.

Slow olay
Beautiful course. Played well except for the long delays on each hole. Group in front of our 4 some had fallen behind by at least two holes Had to wait on every hole. Ranger asked how we were doing and we suggested he get the foursome in front to skip a hole to speed up play. Wouldn't mind waiting on 1 or 2 holes but not every hole. Poor job by ranger. 5 hour round.

Always a feel good round.
It is always a pleasure to play this course. The front 9 is straight forward and a little flat, but has some fun holes. The back 9 has some great elevation change (for northern Illinois). I’m never unhappy leaving this course. It’s not the toughest test, but it’s never a disappointment. Always in solid shape, the staff are friendly and it’s just an all around comfortable place.
