Deer Creek State Park Golf Course
About
Deer Creek State Park Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course that is one of Jack Kidwell's many designs. On this course, Kidwell, an Ohio native, utilized the scenic natural landscape of mature trees and native Ohio Bluegrass. The course has a gently rolling terrain but it is still easy to walk. The diverse layout has four par 3s heavily guarded by water and trees, 10 lengthy par 4s, and four par 5s. It is a formidable test of your shot-making and course management skills. The long fairways are lined with trees and the challenging greens putt smooth and true. Throughout the golf course there are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers and ten ponds coming into play. In addition to the course, Deer Creek State Park also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping area.

well worth the drive
A great place to play for ten dollars - cold but fun:)
Great fall golf
Beautiful Fall Day in Ohio. Worth the drive to a great state park. Very scenic and enjoy the wildlife.
Pace of Play
Course was not crowded however waited on every hole on front nine due to slow foursomes. Need to have rangers circling to keep the pace. I left after 9 and pre paid for 18! Over 2.5 hours to play 9
deer creek golf course
The greens were in excellent condition, the fairways were cut and well maintained
Good course
I really enjoy this course. Poor tee shots will hurt you. Forces you to use punch shot making capability. Greens were very slow.
Hidden Gem
First time playing here, really enjoyed it. Great layout, challenging hazard placement, really nice greens, fresh bunker sand, and a fair price.
Worth the drive
Course was in great condition. Staff was friendly. Played our round in 3 hours 20 minutes. Great day.
Excellent value for 18 holes
My son in law and I truly enjoyed the staff, the course and the value. The course was a little wet in places but did not impact play. The greens were excellent and the bunkers had adequate sand and were in good condition. Believe me I know because I was in many of them. Overall a great day of golf that only took 3.25 hours. It had been ten years since I last played the course. I believe I will try and play the course a couple of more times this season.
Country club feel for a state park course
The white tees are a challenge, typically playing 400 yards. Consider playing from the up tees unless you consistently hit your driver 250+.
Course is in great condition, very peaceful and scenic.
Great course
Tough course to play but very well kept. Had a great time golfing
Deer Creek
Front side was not in very good condition when we played. Backside must better shape. Pace of play was excellent till we hit hole #14 when we wanted on every shot thru 18.
singles galore
Had a great time but for the singles that kept rolling thru, standing on the box like our threesome was holding them up.
Very enjoyable
I have played this course a few times. Honestly I feel it ia a hidden gem. Always in good shape and fun. Greens are in great shape and roll very well.
Worth the drive!
Great practice facility and friendly playing conditions.
Great course
This was my first round at deer creek. The price great on golfnow. Clubhouse and facilities were quite nice. Staff were courteous and helpful. I didn't use any concessions so I cannot rate this area.
There weren't many golfers out so pace of play was great. The course was open and well maintained. Fairways and greens were in great shape, considering the extreme temperatures this week. The course was pretty open and forgiving. But the sand, water, and high grass is enough to keep everyone's attention.
Overall, I was impressed and will be back.
Good course for the money
I had not played this course for 20 years. The greens were excellent, fairways were good. Tee boxes were full of broken tees making them very unattractive. The staff were as nice as anywhere I have ever played.
This was the first time I had played in over nine months due to a broken wrist. The wife and I enjoyed the round.
Fish, Shooting Range and Golf the same day.
Where can you fish, shoot guns and golf within a 2 mile radius all in the same day? That is what this state park golf course offers. You can easily play 18 holes in 3 hours on a weekday. The state lodge, cabins and campground are within a half mile of the golf course. This area is not just a mancave, but a great family arena. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. I was really impressed with all the rough area being mowed so low with all the spring rain.
A very solid golf course and facility
Deer Creek is always in good shape and has really matured over the years. The staff is very friendly and my food at the turn was excellent. I love the driving range and short game area as well. The course can play a little long so some golfers might want to move up a tee. Overall it is a very solid golf course and facility.
Sad what its become
This course used to be one of the best maintained courses in central ohio. Greens were hard as a rock and brown. Arrived on the tee at 8:42 for our 8:48 tee time. Was on the box warming up to hit and two groups who had missed their earlier tee times (8:32 & 8:40) showed up and ranger told them to go ahead of us. So we did not tee off until after 9:10, when we were the ones who were on time for our tee time. Just a disappointment what this course has become.
Secret
For the $$$$ its was the best course we played in a while and we r from fl.!!
