Evaluation of course
We enjoy playing the Links vey much. The layout of the course, playing conditions, & friendliness of the staff & players are excellent! With our Golf Pro card we also get a very good green fee.
Nice course - suggest a ranger
Pro shop EXTREMELY friendly. Made sure we knew where everything was and welcomed us. Starter very nice gentleman as well. Course growing in nicely and several holes right on lake Greenwood which was very nice. Recommend to be below the hole. Several pins were placed on top of a ridge which is fine. Overall a good day. Backside got slow. A 3 some must have been playing their own Masters. Each were 3and 4 putting each hole. Had a good many groups backed up. Ranger could have maybe moved them on. Nice course ! We’ll definitely go back ! 🧡
Nice Layout
Good course for all levels. No trick holes, straight forward playing course. Greens were a little slow.
Excellent Course
This was the best course for its value that we’ve played all year. Not only were the fairways and greens superb, the cart paths were in very good condition which you seldom find. Will be playing there again even though it’s an hour drive for us!
This is a big boy golf course!
Greens and fairways in great shape! Even if we didn’t have 45mph wind gusts, it still would’ve been difficult to reach the greens in regulation. On Mondays the course is “closed”… it’s open for golf but the snack shack is closed and the clubhouse is closed. You can get a cold drink, a candy bar, or even a glass of water without inconveniencing the pro shop staff to go open the clubhouse to bring it.
Beautiful Course with Variety of Holes and Lake Views
The Links at Stoney Point is about an hour drive from Greenville but it is worth the drive for a fun day of golf.
This review is from the forward tees (Red/4950 yards). Also it was August in SC and a very hot and humid day. So my first recommendation is to play when it is cooler (I think fall would be a beautiful time of year to play this course).
The reason I gave the course condition 3 stars is because the greens had been aerated so they were slow and bumpy.
Overall the yardage on each hole seemed very fair for golfers playing the forward tees but for shorter hitters there are a few really long holes. Hole 10 (452 yards/Par 5) is a beast if you don't hit it a decent drive because it is also uphill for the first section of the dogleg. There are a few other holes that play longer than the stated yardage because they are also uphill. Of course, if you play golf in SC you are use to the elevation changes and clubbing up or down depending on the situation.
One of the prettiest holes is 13 (with the lake on the right). Although 13 is a par 3, it is short but the day we played was tricky because the pin was tucked on the right side.
They have a nice snack bar at the halfway point and a nice restaurant (bar & grill in club house); and the staff is great (both in the pro shop and bar&grill).
I definitely recommend playing The Links at Stoney Point.
Beautiful Golf and great lay out!
Greens were great and course was challenging! I would recommend to anybody to play this course!
Love the layout.
Great layout, course in good shape however, the pace of play was slow with no ranger to allow others to play through slow players.
