Harbor at Wild Dunes Golf Links
About
Wild Dunes Harbor Course, designed by Tom Fazio, is said to be cut from some of the prettiest real estate in South Carolina. Water makes up a great deal of the Harbor Course layout. After all, half the course runs along the world’s longest water hazard, The Intracoastal Waterway. Fazio claims the Harbor Course to be one of his favorites. "Working on the Harbor Course was very satisfying to me as a designer because we had to create everything. It was a very challenging, and ultimately, a very satisfying project."

Overall Experience
Teeing ground on every hole was uneven and beat up. Overseeded greeens were very slow, grainy and did not have full coverage...bumpy as well. Course is very tight, penalty both right and left on most holes. Golf course has six par three holes which made it pretty monotonous. Bunkers were very inconsistent, some soft and some like concrete. The green surrounds were either firm/tight or had Bermuda rough. Hard to believe they can call this is a resort golf course and not get out their checkbooks and invest in their maintenance budget to provide guests with a better experience. No plans to return
A fun and challenging yet, scoreable course which has good tee options for all levels.
The course condition was outstanding and way better than other courses in the area that seemed to have suffered more from the recent flooding. The greens were very well manicured.
I will be back soon!
Inaccurate description
Course was great, and staff was friendly. Only bad thing to say is about the posting on golf now. It says it comes with practice balls, a meal, and a drink in the included price which is inaccurate. We chose this deal because of what was supposed to be included and felt cheated by the description.
Played alone
I’m a tourist. Played alone as almost nobody on course. Usually I’m paired with someone. Most courses I’ve played have been much busier. Course in good shape with fast greens
Cold but enjoyable
Even though it was in the low 40’s when I started, my round was thoroughly enjoyable. The course was in great shape, especially the greens. Finished my round in a little over 3 hours. The staff was pleasant even with the cold weather.
If you find fun to drive carts
The layout is ridiculous. You spend nearly as much time driving around houses then playing golf.
Great course
Well kept in December. Not overly challenging but really tested the game. Hot dog and fries were solid, but only saw cart girl once in 18 holes!! BYOB
Fun, but not at this price point.
I have had the opportunity to play the harbour and links course many times and you can tell the links is much more looked after and provides the best overall experience, quality and feel. Although the harbour is a tight and technical track with some great views of the intercostal waterway, you can’t help but to notice that the maintenance is just not at the same calibre as the neighbouring links course. The greens seemed inconsistent. Some soaking wet and others bone dry. Some features of pathways and golf course landscaping seemed a little forgotten compared to its sister course the links. There was also some ongoing construction in and around some holes but this was control of the course but local utilities. What is most important to me is value for my dollar. What am I getting for that green fee on and off the course? I can’t say that it is worth $130 a round but closer to $70. A nice fun course but just not $130 nice.
Greens looked terrible
The greens had been aerated and no one told us. Had to wait on every single shot. Not worth the price. I’ve played on public courses for a third of the price in much better shape.
