Championship at Viewpoint Golf Resort
The Viewpoint Golf Resort offers both a championship course as well as an executive golf course. The Championship Course provides a fair test of skill of golfers of any skill level with generous, rolling fairways lined with trees and some greens that are severely sloped from back to front. With numerous sand bunkers and water hazards that come into play in the form of three lakes and a small creek, the course definitely makes strategic shot-making a priority. The course also provides a scenic atmosphere for the game with panoramic mountain views and cascading waterfalls throughout. Viewpoint Golf Resort's Championship course is easy to walk and there are four sets of tees for a variety of different golfing options.

Many of the greens are dirt, and have almost no grass. tee time was for general play , but when I arrived I was informed it was a shotgun. I arrived early for a 12:37 Tee time and had to sit around until 1:05 PM before we were allowed out on the course.
Greens are very poor shape.
Not sure what happened here but there greens are in terrible shape. Large areas have very sparse grass or none at all. The collars are mostly marked ground under repair. Appears like there was a chemical application problem as usually greens here are decent. Also very slow play 4.5 hr on short course that should be 3 to 3.5 max. Two groups on every single tee box.
Greens are in very poor shape.
Greens are in very poor shape. Many have large areas with very sparse grass. Areas around the greens are almost all marked as GUR. Played here earlier this year and they were pretty good but they have clearly had a big problem! Additionally pace today was very slow. This course usually no more than 3.5 hours today as 4.5 hours. Two groups on every tee box!
Cool Hand Luke
What we had here was a total failure to communicate between the golf course, golf now and the customer. Rainy weather all day but golf course would not agree and tell golf now for refund. Very poor relationship with “Frank”.
Did not realize this was a shotgun start.. slow for A short course- very slow. Waited every hole & every shot.
The proshop female staff person was unbelievably rude. I wasn't advised it was a shotgun start so she told me that I needed to read the fine print better &should complain to Golfnow.
tee times were 20 mins in advance so everyone wouldn't be late?? Course is pretty easy. Fairways OK but greens are not very good.no scenery to speak of / borders a trailer park
clubhouse closed at 5 pm - not a very professional operation. Not a great course
Avoid a long round
Having played Viewpoint many times and enjoyed each occasion, I was very disappointed today. It was a shotgun 8:00 am start and the golfing staff, in their wisdom, had put too many players on the course with many holes having double starts. As a result lots of delays and a long round, not at all enjoyable. The golfing staff should give careful consideration to shotgun speed of play and not be greedy and revenue driven by putting too many players on the course.
We have played here for years first time this winter. It is not in very good shape and certainly not worth $60 for a round. The greens were way slow as nf in poor shape, and lots of areas were still seeded under repair. They have a large captive customer base who would play it no matter what
The Good, the bad, and the Ugly ( IF YOU ARE HANDICAPPED, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE. )
This was my first time at this course and everything started out good. The Starter was friendly and got our bags loaded up right away. My golf partner is handicapped, so I asked the starter about their handicap policy, and specifically if they had handicap flags for the carts. He said no, we don't have flags, but an honor system was usually what they allowed.
However, the bad part of the review is that we were not informed that it was a shotgun start, so the starting area was crammed with dozens of carts and about a hundred golfers. We got on the course, which was in great condition, I really enjoyed the layout. Everything was going good until about the 5th hole which is when things got Ugly. We began to notice the course ranger following us and watching us intently over the next 3 holes. He finally came over, called our foursome in, and informed us #1- we couldn't drive our cart near the green for the handicapped player, #2--no carts on fairway on par 3s, and #3 we were playing to slow. We informed him of our discussion with the Starter but he said that the Starter was wrong, that they do not have a handicap policy. SO IF YOU ARE HANDICAPPED, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE. We informed him that we were not slow, that we were exactly on time for a 4hr round which is what was posted as average for this course, and if the handicapped player couldn't get driven up closer to his ball, we would be even closer. He followed us around for another 2 holes and then came up and again accused us of not following the rules. Apparently there was a sign that said "no carts allowed after this point", but it was 60 yards from the green. I apologized, and said that I didn't see the sign as my partner had sliced the ball and was in the next fairway and when we cut across to the cart path, we were inside the sign. Instead of accepting the apology, he became quite infuriated and informed us that if we didn't follow the rules, he would call in the manager and have us thrown off the course. We asked him to go ahead, we would love to talk to the manager, but after that he never followed us again. As far as slow play, we ended catching the group in front of us at a par 3 hole and had to watch them tee off and play the hole, so we obviously weren't playing to slow.
Good day to golf
The course is in very good shape. Greens were fast and in excellent shape. Was slow golfing on Sunday afternoon because course was busy.
Would certainly golf this course again.
to the greens keepers.
Course is in great shape and the greens are perfect. Fast and rolling very smooth. Good job
Good course for those who don’t hit the ball real long or have any mobility issues. Pretty good shape and easy to maneuver. Overall very friendly place.
Golf shop didn't have my GolfNow reservation on their system but showing my email confirmation took care of getting on the course. Shotgun start was a BIG surprise, but this apparently is their SOP, so be aware. Practice facilities were all in very good condition. Short course, few hazards "in play", somewhat tricky greens to read.
Good shape, tough greens, fun
Good course, good staff - friendly, challenging greens
Greens in great shape !
Course in good shape, greens excellent and we finished in good time.
