Great greens, and a hot deal always helps!

This course was really well maintained, and the greens were pretty stellar. After a crazy amount of rain in the past month only two holes were overly sloppy in the fairway and to the edges of the rough.

Holes are pretty straight forward. A few dog legs, a few water hazards, and like I said great greens. If you can get out when there isn't a huge group of old ladies playing you are golden.

Great course

This course it really great, greens roll really quick and fairways are well kept. The course doesn't have signs on the holes marking distances and hole number but besides that one of the best courses ive played onn

Greens roll great

Had a fun time with two of the locals. Great guys. Played from the black tees to give myself longer approach shots. Greens were very fast. I suggest you spend some time practice putting before you play to learn the speed of the greens, especially the downhill putts. Fairways were in great shape.

Nice course - but?

First time playing this course, beautiful area, but would of been nice if Each hole had markers for yardages, but more importantly a sign saying (Hole 1 or 18). None of the holes were identified and with a course (holes/greens) as close together as this one, even one identifying mark would be nice.

Pinewood CC Rocks

A very friendly but challenging enough course. The marsh that meanders throughout the course comes into play on several holes (especially if you are NOT a long hitter), either on the sides of right in front of you. The greens seem to roll true and are very fast going downhill and really just average speed going uphill. Breaks are very slight and can fool you at times. Fairways are wide and very nicely maintained. Bunker sand is thick and heavy and will test you.

Course conditions

This course has beautiful vegetation all around and is quite an experience at 6600 feet elevation. Course is flat and holes run close to one another. Greens are good but all poanna grass. No significant scenery along course as it runs beside Interstate 17

Pinewood

Beware that during monsoon season, storms may roll in at any time. Once you hear the siren you must go back into the club house until the storm/lightning has passed.

Very very disatisfied

We arrived at the course to see a U.S. kids golf competition there for the day, I love to see kids play and it was fantastic to see how well supported this event was.
We were booked to play 26 minuets after the comp at 15.36, we caught the last group up on the 2nd hole - we then had to go in because of lightening, following the short break we went back out - it took 55 minuets to play the next 3 holes consequently we only managed to play 9 and we came off in the dark at 19.30. As I said I have no problems with the Kids event but Pinewood should of not of taken bookings that afternoon with such an event going on that day.

Purest playing surfaces in AZ!

The course is a true walk in the park. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are immaculate. The superintendent does an amazing job. The greens are very receptive and yet US open speed. Keep it below the hole at all cost. You will truly enjoy your round on this Flagstaff area course. Oh, I almost forgot, the weather was perfect.

Goofed up Golf Now tee time

Every thing was OK until we got there - driving range closed (too wet?) and 12:02 Golf Now tee time was changed or misentered to 12:26? We got there at 11:15 and and nothing to do!! We ended up pairing with 2 people we knew from Flagstaff and got off at 11:56 - go figure the scheduling?

Thunder and Light

Siren sounds right before our tee time due to the threat of lightning . A 45 minute delay and the sun shines through giving way to cool, comfortable temps compared to the 100 plus back in Phoenix. Making the drive up earlier in the day paid off with some top notch course conditions and greens that were as pristine as the mountain air. This parkland course affords all levels of skill a well groomed course that is a welcome respite from the desert heat. Your drive from Phoenix will be rewarded. A tip of the cap to the super .
