Can you say "overbooked?"

We reserved as a two-some and of course, were paired with another two-some at the course. We were held up the entire round at every tee box, and when we began to pass other groups we saw 5 and 6 people grouped together in several instances. Most courses will not allow 5 to play together, but there was no ranger on the course, and pace of play was terrible based on the number of people ahead, and the number of large groups. Really made for a negative experience on what was a fairly nice course. Don't know if I would do that again.

great for the average player

One of the bag boys was extremely rude. Told my son and I to hurry up on 18th green. Other than that a great golf course and nice staff.

Fun course

The course was in great shape and a lot of fun to play. The only down side was that the restaurant was closed after we finished our round so we could not get a bite to eat as we were planning.

Very good experience

Staff was all very friendly from the shop to the bar, much nicer than the old staff, greens not all grown in yet but fast and still rolled nicely, hope they keep it open to the public all year

Ready for Spring Play

Played in VERY windy conditions (40mph gusts) so a bit tough to evaluate for a first time player, but overall the course is in great condition for the time of year (end of April). Greens are FAST, but fair. Fairways in great shape. Got around in under 2.5 hours. which is always nice... really enjoyed it. Started at noon, and was back in Phoenix by 4:15...

Outstanding condition

The course is a ponderosa style course. A lot of dog legs, hilly in lots of spots. The winds made the front nine and back nine play differently. Which sparks the challenges of play. Greens had been aerated a few weeks earlier, still a little residual effects from that. But a must play again for me when I.travel that way again..

Cold iin Spring

This was the first time I played here. It was cold early but warmed up as the day went on. there are thick marshes where it is almost impossible to find your ball if you land there. also some of the greens are sloped and I found them to be very challenging.

Great greens, and a hot deal always helps!

This course was really well maintained, and the greens were pretty stellar. After a crazy amount of rain in the past month only two holes were overly sloppy in the fairway and to the edges of the rough.

Holes are pretty straight forward. A few dog legs, a few water hazards, and like I said great greens. If you can get out when there isn't a huge group of old ladies playing you are golden.

Rain and hail on first hole followed by 20 min lightning delay made for a comfortable temperature on a fun course

The concern from the rain in the air as I drove to this park style course in the mountains was justified. Short lightning delay after playing first hole in rain and hail turning the green to solid white for a minute. The greens kept the speed fairly well although soggy and with deep ball mark repairs on most greens. Had played the course once before. Will be back to take care of some of the so far missed birdie putts. 10 allows for eagle put after good drive. Played Blue Tees which was pushing my abilities as an almost beginner golfer. Would not play at regular rates but good value if you find a Golf Now deal. Well worth $30-$45 with cart during high season.

Lighting Alarm

RAIN!!! RAIN!!!! Have to leave course when the lighting alarm sounds, start over. Started at 10:30, didn't finish until 7. Great course, but be aware of the weather.

Course is in great condition.

We found the course to be in excellent condition with fast greens. There is not a lot of elevation changes so the course is very playable. We will be back.

Pinewood C C

If anyone is up for a senior open style golf course, this is the one for you. This is not a long course, but the greens are very fast. You certainly don't want to be above the hole. I'm thinking the pin placer had a very fun morning. If you are above the hole, even a tiny tap on the ball will send it off the green, you might even be chipping back to the hole. The rough is very tall and you probably won't be able to find your ball. So keep your tee shots in the fairway. This course will certainly test your skill level. I did manage an even par round, but that was only because of my short game skills.

Fun Course, Great Escape

Nice and green conditions, although a bit shaggy in places. Not easy, but not too tough, some mature trees in play. Holes pretty straightforward, not much elevation change or interesting scenery. Very nice greens with some slopes and breaks make putts a challenge. A welcome break from the desert courses near Phoenix. A bit pricey, but worthwhile since there are not many public options near Flagstaff. Overall recommended.

PO greens here are fast and in excellent condition!

Memorial weekend here was very busy. Staff inside and out performed like a well oiled machine. Holiday play is always slow no matter where you are, nice to be cool.

Helpful Staff

Let me start off by saying that I only recently began to play golf again after some years, and have only played a handful of 18 hole courses in my life. With that being said, I had a great time on this course. I did not find it extremely difficult, nor really easy. The staff were really friendly and helpful getting my round started. Overall I liked how the course looked, the highway is nearby, but I don't recall ever hearing any traffic.

I would play here again in the future.
