Westbrook Village Golf Club - Lakes Course
About
The Lakes Course is one of two 18-hole courses that the Westbrook Village Golf Club offers. Residential communities border the course but they do not interfere with the game. The course has a traditional design with a landscape that is accented with mature trees. Undulating greens and several water hazards add plenty of challenge to the course. There are also many strategically placed sand bunkers. The course finishes with not one but two signature holes, the 17th and 18th, offering a great end to the game. The Westbrook Village Golf Club facility possesses various practice facilities as well as a pro shop.

I'm staying at my in laws place with a view of the driving range and first tee box. I booked my tee time online for a 1137 start time. The course was completely empty. No was on the range and nobody had teed off for quite a while when I decided to call at 1000 to see if I could play earlier. The guy was rude and told me no. I booked a time and should honor it. I advised him that there was no one playing and it was wide open and he again told me the same thing. I said fine and ended the call. I walked down the ninth fairway and showed up 50 minutes early to warm up. I asked the guy behind the counter if he was the guy I spoke to on the phone and said he was. I asked him what the deal was since it was completely empty of players. He stated that I should honor my time. To many people book online then come out two hours early wanting to get on. I said I could see his point but there was no one here. I took all my time warming up and teed off at my time. His attitude was horrible. Here is the thing about this course. This has 16 below average holes and two holes that would be considered championship style holes. You play here and it is no frills golf. Mind you it is summer here and it is 110 out. They don't have carts with a ice chest. No gps on the carts. No beverage carts. No wet towels. No cart people to clean clubs when your done. These are all things all golf courses have who call themselves a championship golf course. On top of that they charge more money than the better courses in the valley. I paid a cheap fee on golf now that I think upset the pro in the shop and that was why I was mistreated.
It was dry out just before reseeding very fast greens
Nice views
enjoyed the course even though they were drying it for over seeding.
Course was great but eberything else was well below expectations.
The course design and conditions were great.
Staff and "members" soured the experience.
Bring your own food, bevies, and cooler. Or bring coins for the vending machine!
Pace of play
We played behind a 5 some...I asked the Marshall if that was permitted and he said no...I saw him talking with that group and he let them continue as a 5...what in the world was that about...this was the only complaint....the day beautiful and the course was in great shape.
Fun course to play
Not a long golf course, only 64xx from the black tees. Generous landing areas in the fairways. Course was in immaculate condition, including tees, fairways, bunkers and greens.
A real joy to play.
Gear Course
Really enjoy the layout. The course is highly maintained...tees, fairways, and greens were immaculate. Rough is well maintain and very thick.. If you want a beer on the course, you have to bring your own ice chest and beer...yep, thats what I said,. They do have a restaurant that serves beer, but can't take beer on to the course. Aside from that, great place to play...a little pricey for August and 113 degrees.
Nice experience
This is a nice golf course, very playable. Nothing fancy, but well maintained and well managed. It is pleasant to look at and not intimidating. No long carries, pretty simple approaches to the green (except for 18, which is a really nice design with a water carry.)
Our only on-course complaint is that we got behind a foursome that was VERY slow. We finally decided to skip a hole to pass them when, on a par 3, they were still on the green when the foursome behind us pulled up. Went forward and the three holes that we could see had no one on playing. No marshal ever showed up during our round that we could see. This is a bad luck, not necessarily something that I would expect to find routinely.
After our round, we decided to go inside for lunch. They were pretty busy, lots of “locals” enjoying a beverage or lunch. Nice menu, modern comfort food, appealing both to the eye and the palate. Service was very slow.
Wide open course - both play and fairways!
The course had limited play today and my fellow hacker and I completed the round in just over three hours. We never caught anyone in front of us. Wish it would always be that way!
Country Club Atmosphere!!
Old school golf course, with character!! Fantastic Condition, straight forward course with no surprises. Wide fairways, small greens. Bunkers are well maintained.
