Cave Creek Golf Course
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

the course was in good shape except for several puddles throughout the course...the rough and even fairways had standing water. The greens were fast and they have a beverage cart again
Under new management
I learned how to play golf on this course and had always loved playing it… With that said it been a year and a half since I teed it up there. As of January 1 the course is under new management, and I got to say the greens are firm and fast and the fairways are true! I spoke with some of the employees there and they aren’t done yet... The updated clubhouse and new pull carts are a great touch too. This course is the best muni in Phoenix!!
SLOW PACE OF PLAY
Course was in good condition however pace of play was horrible. Eventually had three random groups in the middle of fairway while our group was on tee box and this was in frontier of the pro shop.
Mid-week; painfully slow. Dropped out after nine holes.
If you think you are a great putter, then these greens will test your skill. They are extremely hard so its difficult to hold a shot. (just use one less club and let it roll up). There weren't any straight putts! If you were above the hole, watch out! These greens truly tested my skills as a putter.
The course was in excellent shape. Played on a windy day, but still had a great time
even tho crowded, pace move right along, and greens were in the best condition I've ever seen them
Pace of play was 5 hours
Greens are challenging and in good shape. Fairways are green and lush albeit a bit narrow. Tee boxes are hard @nd need water to soften them. Very difficult to get a tee in the ground on some of them. Bunkers are brick hard and need new sand or to be worked up to soften them
Great pace of play
Typically plaqued by men’s clubs and retireees. First time in ten, pace of play three hours and not five plus.
Good Now - please remove this course from you offering. Don't subject more innocent tourists to this little slice of He'll. Slow doesn't begin to describe the pace of play on this wasteland. The Marshall just pulled the flags with an hour of daylight left. It is like a weird cult out here of people who hate golf. Buyer beware - don't even attempt it.
good conditions overpriced
a little rain and a fire next to the course not the golf courses fault. But no calling of who is on the tee, no restaurant, and they said there was a beverage cart but didn't see one. There were several openings course wasn't busy lots of twosomes and threesomes. You would think the course would price better to sell out the tee sheet on a weekend.
Course is nice and simple. Pace of play was good. Rental clubs are Tour Edge and are beat up. We walked 18 and it’s doable, though there are a few steep up and downs that get the heart going
Decent course for a municipal
Good condition for winter. Poor pin placements on side slopes of slippery greens made many putts seem like mini golf.
