Very playable course. Great pace of play. No one pushing our fore some and no waiting. Great course to walk. Long course for an old guy like me but we'll worth the money.
Grass in the fairways
Overall a decent course, there is grass in the fairway and the greens roll well. It’s long for the average woman golfer - one par 3 was 165 yds and a par 5 close to 500 yds. The rough is a little burnt. The driving range is overused, as expected on a municipal course.
Good City Public
Good Value. Flat open fairway golf course but for a public city track it is good value. Would play again.
Golf has become STUPID expensive. Hope the craze ends
Great little municipal course
I was so surprised to find this nice municipal course in downtown Phoenix. Thought it might be short, but it plays fairly long. A great value. Clubhouse nice. Play it if you can.
Encanto was good pace
Played for the first time with my wife. We were visiting from Canada and decided to try a public golf course.
We were leery , thinking that the pace of play might be horrible and the conditions poor… but we were pleasanly surprised.
Would play again
Perfect Day
Course was in fine shape, the weather was awesome, my playing partners were strangers, but very friendly.
Kind of boring
Flat course with lots of draw fairways and big sand traps. Greena rock hard. Would not pay over 50 to play here.
Great value muni course
One of the best value courses in Phoenix. Great greens and sand. Fairways very good. Layout is long and a challenge from the whites. Good practice range and putting area. Really needs a practice trap to complete the layout.
great 1st experience here
Course is in good shape considering how much play it gets, and I am picky about condition. Greens rolled fairly fast and true.
Pace of play was reasonable, even though course was crowded when we played.
Would have been nice to see the beverage cart quicker than 2 hours in, but other than that, nothing but good things to say.
Tough
Long course n great shape. Dog legs, sand, water. Greens were great
Basic fun muni - Great value
I play this course a lot when I get an unexpected free afternoon. It's wide open parkland style, especially the back 9, you can just about hit the driver anywhere and have a good chance to make par from the other fairway. The greens slope hard back to front with false fronts and bunkers left and right on most. If you get above the hole, putting it downhill is going to make 3 putt avoidance a good challenge. Particularly with the front pin locations. A very straight forward simple course, but the greens give it enough teeth that i wouldn't call it easy. Dormant Bermuda rough which is typical here in PHX wintertime, and some spotty areas where the sprinklers aren't hitting where they need to on the fairways.. otherwise the course is very playable and fun. And for the price, walking or riding, in the winter weather here in the valley you just about can't beat it. There are very similar parkland courses at resorts within a 20 min drive in every direction in similar condition that charge triple the green fees.
Encanto #1 Phoenix Muni
Staff, vibe and course are awesome. Love it here and love the people here as well!
