Villa de Paz Golf Course was voted the top affordable 18-hole course in the Valley of the Sun, according to the Arizona Republic. The parkland course challenges top golfers, though it's not so difficult that beginners will wish they'd golfed elsewhere. After a 2002 remodel, the par-71 course measures 6,700 yards and offers water on 10 holes. If Phoenix in summertime intimidates, fear not: at Villa de Paz Golf Course, shade abounds, due to mature trees lining several fairways. Shoot for birdies or eagles, do so, but wisely. Reward has risk. Shooting sharply is especially required on holes like the fourth, a par-4 450-yarder with a severe right dogleg. Hitters dig the seventh, eighth and 15th, par 4s that can be nailed from the tee. The 18th mixes distance and skill. The par-4 470-yarder doglegs right and requires a carry over a lake to reach the three-tiered green. Fancy a warm-up before the Villa de Paz Golf Course? Use the handy practice area, with its range, two-tiered hitting zones and highlighted target areas at different yardages so you can check your length -- and the wind.

Tee boxes need help, as well as the fairways, bunkers are 1/2" of sand over clay, as are many other courses in the Phoenix area. greens are OK. The format of the course is very good it just needs help. My wife and I golf it often, the staff is super nice to us. The prices are very good, and we enjoy the course. But If you are looking for a course that is in real nice condition, you will have to go else where, and pay 3, 4 , 5 times the price.or more
Nice layout, needs TLC
Had a good time, but always do when on a golf course. This course has an interesting layout, general condition of greens and rough was not very good. With some attention to the course maintenance this could be an above average municipal course.
Poor
Worst condition I’ve seen. Very low price but would pay more for a fairway.
Don't play here.
Awful conditions. Lack of grass everywhere on the course. Course was busy and no course marshals watching pace of play. We were a twosome in a cart following 4 guys in three carts. We caught up to them after about 4 holes and waited for them to hit on every hole there after. They never offered to let us play through so we ran out of time and had to skip 2 holes.
Villa de Paz
This was the 4th time playing this course. Tee #1 and #18 have always been kept above average and must be since only 2 holes that are directly in view of the club house. The course definitely needs work done but for the price can not deny they are doing the best to not let a budget golf course go to waste. Staff is very professional and courteous. This course is always a challenge even for the most returning golfer. Only bad thing is all the geese feces that is untouched on fairways and on some greens. TLC is needed to make this course more welcoming for a 1st timer to return.
Villa de Paz
They got us off a little early without request. Well done. Good layout. Great value. But PLEASE repair your ball mark. Green speed was great but HEY PATRONS; other people golf here. Fix a dent even if it is not yours. I try to do two a green at every course. LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT. Sorry that was my dad teaching me to better a human being.
the course layout is not bad but the grounds are in poor condition. the surrounding homes are low end. That said the course is a decent value at $20 plus tax and fees. I play here occasionally and find it acceptable.
Course was a little rough around the edges but it’s definitely worth it’s price range. The people in front of us held the game up quite a bit to the point i played two balls but hey that’s just more golf for me!!! I absolutely enjoyed myself and will play the course again.
This course is a great value
Staff is excellent. Course in solid condition. Great value.
Played here for 16 years will never return total disappointment needed to find a weed to place the ball on at the 4 th hole
Where's the grass...
Course needs more grass and less duck poop in the fairways.
Not worth it
The overseed was unsuccessful They have really let the course go
Terrible conditions
This was by far the worse I had ever seen. Outside of the holes around the club house every others hole was in terrible shape. I will never play this course unless they have a major overhaul. I rather pay an additional $25 and enjoy a decent course. I only played 7 holes and I was done.
Unsatisfactory
Played here a year ago course was in better shape. First three holes very little grass on fairways. Tee boxes needed to have grass cut. A lot of goose droppings on course and putting greens. Would not recommend to a serious golfer.
