Villa de Paz Golf Course was voted the top affordable 18-hole course in the Valley of the Sun, according to the Arizona Republic. The parkland course challenges top golfers, though it's not so difficult that beginners will wish they'd golfed elsewhere. After a 2002 remodel, the par-71 course measures 6,700 yards and offers water on 10 holes. If Phoenix in summertime intimidates, fear not: at Villa de Paz Golf Course, shade abounds, due to mature trees lining several fairways. Shoot for birdies or eagles, do so, but wisely. Reward has risk. Shooting sharply is especially required on holes like the fourth, a par-4 450-yarder with a severe right dogleg. Hitters dig the seventh, eighth and 15th, par 4s that can be nailed from the tee. The 18th mixes distance and skill. The par-4 470-yarder doglegs right and requires a carry over a lake to reach the three-tiered green. Fancy a warm-up before the Villa de Paz Golf Course? fun day
I like it here, on off days or on slow days i can play through by myself and work on my game. .if you keep it in the fairways all is well, if you miss you may be playing from dirt.(not a huge deal) has some water holes,some fun par 5`s and all in all is a challenge to play. if the edges were manicured better it would get a lot better review. staff is cool, and when cart woman is there , she is very nice also. all in all a great deal for the money :)
Great course for the value
Need to keep working and making look more attractive but little hard grounds
Overall ok had a good time
Although the staff is super nice to my wife and I , the course fairways do need help, the layout, is good, the greens are OK, with all the dirt on both sides of the fairways the fairway grass should be cared for more, would change the look, and play completely. My wife and I will still keep going, but it is hard to get others to come back.
Best Value and Close to Cardinal Stadium
Great for the rate. If you want to have a good time and still have money left this is the place to be. Some improvements made dn I'm sure there's more to come as the Westside continues to grow.
They have given up on the course
It seemed to us that they are no longer maintaining the course. The fairways are either dead grass or just dirt. The tee blocks don’t look like they have been moved in a while . Too bad, but it may be the sign of the times.
the course has a good format, but needs attention to the fairways in general, greens and bunkers are OK considering the price, but my guess is that the owner does not want to but any monies into the course??? If the proper use of funds and management this course could be bought back and more desirable for patrons to come back, and recommend to a friend.
I've golfed at Villa De Paz several times. This the greens were pretty slow. Which is okay once you get used to them. Seems that nobody repairs their ball marks on the green. Grass is sparse in a lot of the fairways or non existent. I like to course layout. It is one of the less expensive courses in the area. Maybe that's why it is not in as good of shape as most.

Listed as attractive course with many mature trees to provide shade however many of these old trees are dead or already removed due to disease. Fairways and greens occasionally very nice to beautifully kept but most fairways and greens in poor shape either due to lack of maintenance...perhaps lack of funds. Even small things would improve conditions....i.e. refrain from dumping cut grass on fairway, clean off-site restrooms, repair divots. Ball washers were all well maintained however and carts were clean. Friendly staff.

Good track for the money. Nice staff that manages all aspects of the game very well.

We love the course as it is challenging enough for us, the staff is very helpful and the golf shop offers some great bargains.

everything was good to excellent.... greens were slow but true.... greens will likely be excellent after a cutting or two....
Great condition!
Course was in great condition, fairways overseeded coming in great. Greens we're rolling very well. They could stand to mow the clover along the fairways a little shorter to facilitate finding errant tee shots. Would be a better looking course if they cleaned up along the adjoining property walls. There was a lot of trash strewn about.
For the price you can't beat it, I go there a lot, and always have a great time.
