Fun and scenic
If you are in the area, treat yourself to this course. Played with the Hot Deal price so a pretty good value.
Ask the starter about how the greens break...otherwise, putt at your own peril!!!
Oak creek, worth the drive
Fast, pure greens. Lush fairwas and rough. Excellent scenery. Worth the drive from Phoenix.
The course was well maintained and the scenery was magnificent.
Oakcreek Golf Course has issues
Members want their own private course but don't want to play the cost of a private membership. They don't appreciate the revenue generated by outside play.. You may get lucky if you play there.. I didn't.
Best Greens in the State. Period.
Teed off first of the morning (7:30 am) on a Sunday. Hardly a soul around. Restaurant not open until 8:00 am which was a big problem for this coffee drinker... But the great staff brought me out a delicious large cup full just before the headache started, about the fourth tee. Restaurant is run by other than the golf staff I was informed. The course was in great shape, fairways tight, bunkers manicured and the greens were just perfect. They were very smooth, very quick, held approach wedges. All you could ask for in a premium golf course. With the sun shining and the trees changing to autumn colors I felt like I was in heaven. Five stars and congratulations to the great team at Oak Creek Country Club. Play here at any cost, only a fool would be disappointed.
Great course when visiting Sedona
It was a near perfect day for golf, and while the pace was a little slow, we were able to get ahead after nine. The course was in immaculate shape, with super fast (and tricky) greens. The hole length and designs were fair and quite playable (although as an older course obviously laid out for righties that cut the ball, it brought the neighbouring properties into play for me as a lefty). Nevertheless, i managed not to do any damage, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Oak Creek RTJ Course
Great RTJ design that no one has screwed with. Signature trap placements and well maintained bent grass greens that are nice and fast.
Wonderful course, a little pricy
Very good layout. Great course conditions despite Sedona having had a LOT of rain. Greens were fast and putted true. I gave the total experience 4 stars - wanted to give it 4-1/2. Front 9 (RTJ Senior design) is mostly flat but moderately demanding. Back 9 (RTJ Junior design) has nice elevation changes and is demanding.. Seemed a little pricy for a semi-private course. BUT...I'd love to return. Would play Oakcreek and Sedona Golf Club and skip Seven Canyons, an uninspired Weiskopf course.
Can't say enough about the beauty of this course. The weather was perfect. We will definitely play again.
AWESOME!!!!! MUST PLAY IF IN THE AREA
First would like to thank the golf staff at oak creek for getting us on yesterday!!!
Course is in great shape, even after the storm went through the day before. The staff was extremely friendly and the views of the red rock on the back 9 is just breath taking. This is a second time playing here and again a 5 star. We would also play this course again when we are in the area again.
The only tip I would give is if you book on golf now it's usually half the price of the club house is offering! We made this work with a little help from the club house which was greatly appreciated, as we are Canadian.
ENJOY YOUR PLAY HERE AND MAKE SURE THIS IS THE COURSE YOU PLAY IN SEDONA!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU
Party of 4
Course in excellent condition. Staff was very nice and helpful. Friendly golfers around us. Enjoyed immensely!
Not only was the course in great condition but the scenery was beautiful. The weather was perfect and the conditions were wonderful. This course is well laid out and just challenging enough.
Great views, fine golf vcourse
Oak Creek boasts great views of Red Rocks, well manicured greens and a challenging but fair layout. Carts include GPS, always a treat especially when playing a course for the first time. Greens rolled true and fairly fast but held approach shots extremely well. Complimentary range balls always appreciated Traps could use softer sand as opposed to the very firm grainy dirt-like substance... only downside.
One of my favorite courses in Arizona
I've played here probably 5 times now and it's always a great experience. I prefer this course much more than its competitor just down the road in Oakcreek. This is a traditional, wooded/parkland style layout that is easy to walk. It reminds me of a course from the northeastern US, but with the beautiful red rock scenery all around.
Conditions were excellent all around. Nothing I can complain about.
The starters are all excellent, friendly guys and do a great job of getting everyone ready to tee off on time, introducing players to those they are paired up with, etc.
The course has usually been busy when I've played it. My weekend afternoon rounds here have been in the 3:50-4:15 range which is good for a course full of foursomes with a lot of tourists.
This course is not cheap but I feel it's worth it. I'll be back many times. It is a far better overall value than the "other" course in town.
