Fantastic Day of Golf
Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered at a golf course. Stunning scenery, excellent course conditions. A little slow on the back nine, but a wonderful experience.
Will definitely be back to play again.
Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in very good to excellent condition. Easy to take a good divot on the fairways and the greens stopped the balls on a dime. Course has mature trees and landscaping very well maintained. Course layout is not to tough if you keep out the the numerous fairway bunkers. Would highly recommend.
Good golf course, perfect weather
Beautiful golf course in great shape with very friendly staff.
Course in great shape. Perfect greens. Only negative was not very senior friendly.
If you get to Sedona definitely play this course, the views on every hole are spectacular. The front nine is a collection of fun holes but it only gets you set for the back nine which is where this course shines. Course condition was great, greens were consistent although I’d prefer them a bit quicker, but my only real problem with the course was a lack of a beverage cart. This in no way would stop me from coming back but in the heat of late summer in Arizona cold beverages both alcoholic and non are essential. All in all I’d say Oakcreek Country Club is a must play!
Course was in good condition. You don't know the caliber of golfer thats assigned with you. But you do make new friends. Sometimes slow because of the levels of all golfers. Staff was great, the back is spectacular views.
A very enjoyable day
Very nice layout....challenging but not overwhelming. You can tell it’s a RTJ course....doglegs left and right, strategically placed bunkers, risk reward on Tee shots, undulating greens...reallly a course that will challenge a mid handicap player and higher. The low handicappers, long hittters will be able to go low on this course, mid and higher will go low or high depending on the game they play that day
The greens were in excellent shape this week (we played twice). Fairways were good, rough was tough but not penal. Only issue is the bunkers were washed out due to heavy rains but I don’t really know how much to complain on that.
Overall, an enjoyable place to play, beautiful background, very nice people, good pace of play and reasonably priced.
I’m currently a 10 handicapper (darn those chipping yips) but used to be much lower so I think my review would fairly reflect the challenges a Low to mid handicapper would experience.
I have played this course a number of times and have always found it in great shape as always and fun to play. I was paired up with a great group of players , Will be playing here again real soon.
Unfortunately we were disappointed
While on a four day visit from Phoenix, my wife and I played golf at Oakcreek Country Club on 8/23/18. We were greeted with friendly staff members and we were excited to play a highly rated course by Golf Advisor contributors. We were paired up with a single player, he was very nice and friendly so we enjoyed playing together. Now comes the negative, we were stuck behind a fivesome of women members (two walkers and three in power carts). We waited on every shot from holes 3-12. Even though there were two holes open in front of them at one point, it was evident that the fivesome had no intention of letting us play through. At one point, another threesome caught up to us and inquired why the fivesome wouldn’t let our group play through. We were so frustrated that we ended up leap frogging them on the 13th hole. What a bunch of rude and inconsiderate women. My wife was going to call the pro shop to see if they could do something but we collectively figured the course wouldn’t do anything because they were members and we were out of town visitors. I was extremely disappointed because the experience soured our round and tainted our opinion of a wonderful course and potentially an outstanding experience.
First time in Sedona and played Oakcreek. Great course with great scenery of the red rock formations, make sure you bring a camera! Now about the golf. Fairways were in great condition despite the heat, it was 106F when I played, no dry grass, the rough was thick and lush, hard to get under the ball, very hard to hit a flop. The greens were lightning fast, and rolled very well. Only complaint were the bunkers, basically hard pan, a lot of skulled shots as the bounce worked against you. Overall great day will likely play it again.
