Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links
About
This beautiful facility is located on 270 pristine acres at the North end of the Grand Strand. Blessed with a unique topography and large mature trees, the course meanders down to the inter-coastal waterway with scenic vistas to distract you at every turn.
This 6900 yard Clyde Johnston design is owned and managed by the same group that developed the fabled Heather Glen links and the service you have grown to expect from this organization is evident the moment you drive up to the clubhouse. Give this course a try the next time you vist the Myrtle Beach area. You won't be disappointed!

Nice Views
Overall course conditions are good. Some thin spots in some fairways & greens. Nice views of the waterway throughout the course. Be your A game to score here.
Not worth the $$
Was ok to play, layout was good, greens below average. The cost for this course is too high. It’s an $75 course at best. Grande Dunes is exponentially better for the $$. Eagle Nest and Man-o-War are also just as good and way cheaper. Saw beer cart just one hole.
Paying for history
Everything started off normal, arrived 40 minutes early to hit some balls and putt a few to loosen up. I went to the pro shop and found a huge room with bare minimal golf shirts and nothing else. The shirts were displayed nicely but the pro shop didn’t have any clubs, jackets, bags, shoes or anything that a golfer might need when traveling. I gathered myself and said I’ll just play and do not need the amenities. The driving range was 1000 yards away and no carts were allowed. I paid 165 dollars and had to pay extra for range balls.
The layout of the course was designed beautifully but there were weeds on every green and the rough has been neglected. They have installed artificial grass on the popular areas for golf carts, which was a great idea to minimize the work for a ground crew. I believe they only have enough employees to cut the grass and perform up-keep maintenance.
This course looks like it is ready to close and I which I read up about this course before I paid top dollar for it. Glen Dornoch is off my list for sure.
Course in very very good conditions. Reasonably challenging. One can handle with course management. Will play again for sure.
weedy greens
The greens were in horrible condition. I felt that for the amount we paid, we should have gotten much better conditions. Would not go back. The pace of play was also very slow.
Not ready for prime time!
It was mobbed, sending players off the back and front. Not sure if that is “par” for the course. Slow play. The greens not in the greatest shape. Was disappointed with course conditions but maybe early in the season?
Challenge for all
Fun afternoon, great time. Would take a few rounds to figure out a plan of attack.
I will be back.
Windy city
Wind and layout presents a challenge. Greens a tad bumpy but overall a great experience
Surely you cannot be serious, this place is terrible. Glen Dornoch is a DUD!
Played last year and course was good, played yesterday and although the course has a great layout, the greens are the absolute worst i have ever played on in Myrtle Beach. Greens look diseased and if you like to play PLINKO then you will love it here. They roll similair to greens that are aerated, disgusting they don't alter pricing to reflect conditions. They have the addacity to charge 92 dollars for regular green fees if you do not have a discount card, thank god our group has the golftrail card. Save your money and go elsewhere cuz this course if a real disappointment
Nice track
Nice layout especially last 3-4 holes which were very challenging. Conditions are good for time of year. Bag and pro shop staff great....only issue was slow pace of play because of one group that would not let any play through.....we were one of 3 groups that drove around them to skip a hole and continue.....staff at the turn didn't seem interested in addressing the issue at all
Target golf
Long drivers leave your big dog at home. Maybe 5 or 6 holes you’ll need it at most. Great layout, if you can hit it where you want it. If not, bring your calculator. Course was in great shape for winter months. Cart path only as they fertilize so pace of play was god awful. Otherwise, I can’t wait to go back.
Great course
This is an awesome course, love playing here every year!
Good Time as always
Course did have a couple of light grass spots but always a treat.
