Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Fresh sand in bunkers
Very pleased to see the bunkers topped up with more sand. I have played a lot of courses and these are the best in the Sun City, Peoria area.
Great course for average golfer
It's a great course for an average golfer. Wide fairways, big greens, good price. Some of the greens need some TLC before the summer heat gets here.
Pace of play vs On course marshall
I know that most reviews are based on either stellar experience or the opposite experience. I understand that golf courses want to book as many playable rounds as possible but you can't have Marshalls badgering patrons for maintaining pace of play with the group in front of them.....that is literally all we can see. If you have a slow group 6 in front of me.....move them along and I will keep up....I don't want a 4.5 hours round to take 5.5-6 hours.
Nice pro shop
Friendly staff.
Nice golf cars with gps. Greens pretty slow but fairways in nice shape. As with all Arizona courses it’s way over priced. Get it for $40 and it’s a good deal.
Much improved
Conditions here are much improved over previous winters. Fairways have great grass coverage, rough isn’t total dirt hard pan like it used to be, green side bunkers have more sand and it looks like they are getting ready to re-do some of the fairway bunkers. Course played nice and firm and the ball rolled well. Only minor issue is what I’m guessing are some small tufts of poa grass on the overseeded rye greens particularly on the back nine that can slightly throw off putts.
Overall I was very pleased. Good value for the money with the SwingFirst discount card. Dan in the pro shop was friendly and helpful too.
Nice course
This is a nice course that plays well for any skill level. Good value for the money. Only complaint is pace of play. Took 5 hours to golf a round and saw no course staff pushing the pace of play.
Good Fairways and greens
The fairways and greens are in great shape. Rough is good around greens but a little thin in some places. Sand traps were not good, some should have been marked under repair. Pace of play was great. Since the last time I played there they have added GPS to their carts. The carts were in better condition too.
Hidden Gem
This is a great track in the west valley. Course was in good shape and fun to play. Tree lined holes force good shots off the tee and greens have enough slope to keep things interesting. So refreshing to play a course this time of year and not have to pay $120 on a weekday afternoon.
Failed Country Club
The two entrances have monument signs that clearly show that the words "Country Club" have been removed from below "Union Hills". Tacky. The signage is poor for first timers to find the pro shop. The club house was locked. The first and 18th fairways have white range balls in them making it difficult to find your ball, if you are using a white one. The fairways, greens, and bunkers were in great condition. The rough was hard, dry and in poor condition.
Fairways and greens are a 10
Since new ownership, it is changing and in spite of “don’t miss the fairways” scene, very fair and looking good. Keep up the transition work.
Bad looking
My rating of course Cond is a little weird because the fairways and greens were in good shape but anywhere off the fairway was horrible and I mean high grass weeds, blotchy patches, uneven grass, mud dirt just visually bad. And when you pull into the parking lot there’s so many weeds. It looks like the course has been closed for years, horrible looking.
Better than ever!
It might be a typical Sun City layout but the course was in great shape except for some bunkers which needed attention. Great pace of play in ideal conditions too! They have also invested in new carts with GPS.
Pleasant surprise
We drove a considerable distance to play this course. Really enjoyed our day. Course is in reasonably good shape, carts are comfortable electric with GPS. Staff was pleasant with good service. Will try to play again soon.
