Grandview Golf Course may be little known, but it provides a good challenge for players of all abilities. Although the course is relatively demanding, it is suitable for most players and there are also four sets of tee boxes to adapt the game to different skill levels or handicaps. There is a variety of different sand bunkers that golfers need to watch out for as well as water hazards that come into play on four holes. The signature hole is the par-5 13th hole, which is challenging not only due to its lengthiness but also because it requires an approach shot over water.

Disappointing

From the moment we arrived things became obvious. There was no bag drop and we had to lug our bags to the pro shop and of course, load them on the cart. They charge for range balls and the putting green was closed due to the previous few days rain. We went to get ice water. No cups. The pro shop gave us styrofoam cup,s, no lids or straws. We then realized that the ice machine did not give water so the search for water began.

Finally ready to go, we headed to the first tee. The fumes off the gas cart were nauseating. The cart rattled and shook. Needless to say, our water spilt from the cups.. the cart fumes did subside in time. We had to play cart oath only. The overseeding had not been cut and the course played very long. Now we come to the greens. I have been golfing in AZ for the past two weeks. We have played 0 different courses. The greens were very bumpy and needed to be rolled but slower than slow.

Overall disappointing. Pro shop could have told us that they had just opened.

Grandview and Golfnow cancel reservations at lower rate without customer approval.

Both parties are blaming each other for this insulting unprofessional collapse of reason. Booked 10/2/19 for a 7 am single Sunday 10/6/19. Next day get phone call from Golfnow telling me that they canceled my tee time because Grandview told them to do so because the rate had increased 10/1/19. Fine, but did Grandview or Golfnow offer me the same tee time at the higher rate? I mean I already had it scheduled and confirmed. NO, neither the course nor reservation system even gave me the chance, they both RESOLD my tee time to another at the higher rate. So I trust Golfnow to provide me tee time opportunities and I trust Grandview to honor my tee times. Both failed me completely. As this time of year we overseed winter grasses locally, the availability of tee times is dramatically reduced as less courses are open for play. So what options do I have? Can't find another tee time or course available on such short notice. Option number two is VENT, done here. Option number three is to not use Golfnow nor ever play at Grandview, done. Beware golfers because both Golfnow and Grandview are NEVER wrong. And when they are... you don't get honored, you get dropped like a two foot putt. And they both would like you to think its your problem not there's.

Excellent public course

Played from the 'tips', 6700+ yards. Course was in great shape, and played in 3.5 hours. Super friendly staff. Will be playing here this summer as part of a rotation with 4 other courses. Look forward to my next round here.

Cons: No water available out on the course, but water and ice at the clubhouse. No refreshment cart coming around, although with minimal golfers that day it may not have been economical.

Good value

Not a 5 star course, but at $57 on a Sunday it is a good value. In comparison to other courses in the area it is a nice play. Greens are good. Good amount of water, but course is very playable.

Great Course

My husband love playing this course. It is always in great condition and the course is great to play. The staff are awesome and the pace of play is usually good. We did have some players behind that hit a ball up to where we were hitting our ball from, but this only happened once during our round. We had a few holes where we had to wait for the players in front of us but we didn't mind as they had to wait for the group in front of them. Will play this course again and again if we can get a tee time.

"You People" aren't welcome....???

I take no pleasure in doing this, but I have to be honest about my experience at Grandview in Sun City, AZ. Everything was fine until 4 cranky members in the foursome behind us hit into us intentionally on the 4th hole. While we were on the 5th tee, they came over and started swearing at us. I guess we weren't playing fast enough for them, even though 3 of us in the group are employed in the golf industry in Phoenix, and we were at a 10-minute per hole pace by our watches. We called the pro shop, and shortly thereafter the Ranger arrived. He spoke to them, then us. He proceeded as such: "Here's what you people need to understand..." He defended them, rather than apologizing on their behalf. Clearly this course isn't prepared to handle public play, which is fine. You want to be a private club, I have no issue with that at all. If your members and more importantly, YOUR STAFF, aren't ready for the public, then don't invite us.
