Trail Ridge Golf Course at Sun City West
About
Trail Ridge Golf Course offers a good game on a truly desert landscape. Built on mostly flat terrain, the course can be walked but there are some holes that are quite hilly. Ponds situated throughout the golf course create water hazards that come into play on six holes. There are some elevated tees and greens as well as strategically placed sand bunkers to add further challenges. Four sets of tee boxes ensure that golfers of all skill levels and abilities will enjoy the course. The Trail Ridge Golf Course facility also features practice facilities including a putting green and chipping area and there is also a fully stocked pro shop.

Beautiful course!
Nice golf course right in the middle of housing, great scenery with the cactus and desert surrounding. Course is well laid out, not too hard and not too easy. Friendly staff and the course Marshall was very nice to chat with every so often. Had a foursome of men behind us who played from the ladies tees who pushed us a bit and that was a little annoying as we were hot on the heels of the group in front of us but other than that it was a very pleasant experience.
Course layout is poor
Course is in pretty good shape and the employees are very friendly. The course layout is lame. Pretty brown desert style off all fairways. Every hole is lined with houses. I can deal with those concerns, what makes this course lame to play is how poorly it was designed. Fairways where the landing area narrows to 10 yards past 200 yards, trees in odd locations blocking approach shots and greens that slope towards hazards. Either pay $20 less and play regular sun city courses or pay $20 more and play sun city grand courses.
A good challenge I
I like the course layout. Very challenging at times. I dislike the roughs, too dry and unmanageable, however the round was very enjoyable. Also, the greens seem to be rather firmer than usual.
Good value
Course was in pretty good shape. The rough could have used some work, but the fairways and greens were good. We played during a rainy day, so pretty much got the course to ourselves so I cannot comment on pace of play. The course is not the longest but has some challenging holes. Staff was very friendly and I would recommend if you are looking for a good value course.
Good value
All Sun City West courses are very good for the money. Trail Ridge has nice greens, good fairways and will require precise shots coming in to the greens.
Very nice course. Comparable to better than Grandview in Sun City West
Very nice course
Very slow play (Was lady's day)
Course in great shape
RV
Good value for the $, pace was good. Will play it again
Too many golfers
We were delayed for 30 minutes past our scheduled tee time and then they kept sending out golfers so rapidly that we had three groups on every hole.
Great!
Had never played here before but saw a hot deal on golf now so we gave it a try. Love the course even in the rain. we got 18 in in less than 4 hours probably because so few golfers with the wet weather but that was fine with us. Will definitely recommend this course!
Enjoyable experience !
Great fairways, greens and traps. Only negative grading along cart path some deep ruts, could cause injury.
Sun City West gem
Outstanding layout with excellent conditions from tee to green. Greens are perfect smooth no ball marks and quick. Greens are also quite large so practice your long lag putting. Played in 4 hours which for me is slow but mainly due to the twosome we were paired with. Would highly recommend this course and look forward to playing it again in the near future
great trak
This remains one of our favorite venues in the NW valley. Holes are interesting and there is some challenge to the layout with water in play on several holes. Pace of play was very good and we finished our round in a little over 4 hours. The course was in great shape; greens were fast and a bit tricky to read. We'll play it again.
Great day of golf.
Never played this course before but I will certainly be back. Having been in Arizona in July and golfed on really burnt out fairways and greens, this course was amazing. Fairways and greens were lush and green! What a wonderful experience.
Nice track
Have played many Sun City courses and this one maybe the best, would definitely play here again. Greens are large, maybe a bit slow but in excellent condition.
