Trail Ridge Golf Course at Sun City West
About
Trail Ridge Golf Course offers a good game on a truly desert landscape. Built on mostly flat terrain, the course can be walked but there are some holes that are quite hilly. Ponds situated throughout the golf course create water hazards that come into play on six holes. There are some elevated tees and greens as well as strategically placed sand bunkers to add further challenges. Four sets of tee boxes ensure that golfers of all skill levels and abilities will enjoy the course. The Trail Ridge Golf Course facility also features practice facilities including a putting green and chipping area and there is also a fully stocked pro shop.

excellent course, in great shape for time of year
Course was in excellent condition considering the heat this time of year. A few dryed out spots, but overall excellent. Challenging, but fair layout, greens rolled true and fairly quick. Would definitely come back and play this course again next time I visit this area.
Course is in great shape considering they aerated early this year. WIll be nice in the summer; offered varying holes, great!
Aside from the staff either hating their job or a bad day the course was great, a little pricey but it will come down in the summer and be worth it. Played from the tips, boxes were excellent. Sand/desert played very hard, but normal for AZ, enjoyed the course!
Aerated greens but no alert!
Course was great, but to not be alerted of aerated greens before booking gives them 2 stars on this one. We were a little surprised of the aeration in the middle of April when spring play is still going. Great course that is challenging at 6600 yards. Definitely one of the better layouts and courses on the West side of town. We will be back...after the aeration is completed. Next time at least let your golfers know prior to payment. You will earn much more respect.
This is one of my favorite courses
This course in Sun City West is challenging regardless what tee box you play from and the greens are beautiful. The staff is friendly and the price is right so how can you go wrong with Trail Ridge.
Awesome Golf Course
This golf course is among the best in the NW Valley. It's condition is as good as any of those snooty Scottsdale courses for a fraction of the cost. The greens were one of the two best that I have seen this year and I have played at least 40 golf courses. get out and play this one before too many others find out about it. You will not be disappointed.
Bunkers need attention
Course plays at a good length, nice for the most part. Need some actual sand in bunkers.
Good conditions. Not worth the drive from Gilbert.
Lets start with check in, with the exception of the players assistant. The clubhouse was dismissive and icy. No cart service on a saturday seemed odd to me. We checked in 30 mins early and stated we were ready if they wanted to send us. No joy. Held for 30 mins for no reason I could see. No groups in front. The course: conditions were good. Green fairways and greens were really slow though well maintained. Course plays a little tight but only about 6500yds from the tips with a few forced carries. If you have a gps bring it as there is no hole layout on the card or at the tee so unless you are playing with someone that has "local knowledge" you can get yourself into trouble with a few hidden features and bunkers and that would have changed our club selection off the tee. A few forced carries but nothing that will threaten the longer hitters from the tips. All in all if you live on that side of town its worth the price of admission but nothing worth trekking across town for. Plenty of good golf to play in the east/northeast valley and I'm sure that is fine with the citizens of Sun City.
Nice layout in great condition with with friendly staff.
The greens were amazing, the best I've putted on in many years.
Good course.
Enjoyed this course; most importantly, the greens were in good condition and rolled true. Not super difficult from the white tees and the twilight green fee was quite reasonable.
this course fun to play
every thing that a golfer wants the course is in great shape the greens are well taking care of it was a great round
This course was in great shape
The course was in great shape. Play back up on most of the par threes. The player's assistant was very friendly and thank us for playing their course.
Fairways aand greens were in great condition.
I played on a Sunday afternoon and pace of play was really bad. It took over 5 hours to complete the round.
An oasis in the desert
Lots of desert off the lush bright green fairways.
Very well groomed course with strategically placed bunkers.
Some good water hazards and challenging Par 3's.
Greens run true. They seemed a little slower on the back 9. Nice layout with enough hole shape variety to keep it interesting. A couple of very challenging holes with very little fairway among the waste bunkers. Play was slow but it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Great golf day for my son and I.
The staff was nice and greeted us. We got on the course a little early. It was cared for and well groomed.
It was a little pricey from my normal round but we wanted a special day and we got it.
One of my best father son gold experiences. Thanks.
I did need a bathroom about hole 15 and there were none on the back nine.
Great variety and good conditions.
Interesting layout in good condition that presents a variety of challenges. A very good value at the golfnow special.
Greens are in great shape.
Paid $17 on Golfnow Hot Deal and it was worth it. Course is in great shape, fairways are nice and greens are true. Pace of play was fine for a foursome and course finishes with west to east holes so the sun is at your back late in the day. Course is between moderate to challenging. Some holes have interesting design features, especially 17th.
Would recommend this course to all skill levels due to multiple tee boxes.
Fairways and greens in great shape. Greens putted very true. Good course.
