Ken McDonald Golf Course
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

The course was in very good condition considering it was coming out of over seeding. It is a very flat course with most holes straight out in front of you .
The traps are well maintained, greens were good, and the fairways were neatly cut.
Pace of play was very good also. i would recommend this course to anyone
Not to bad
I think they are starting overseeding process soon. But the course was still green, greens were fast and firm. Not bad for the time of year. The value was unbeatable.
Considering over-seeding is just a week away, the course was in great condition. Staff is always friendly and professional, including the cart lady. Course was surprisingly busy for a weekday, yet pace was outstanding as we finished in just over four hours. Can't wait to play once the winter grass has taken root!
We are out of towners and this was our first time golfing here. The whole experience was enjoyable. The staff were great, the course in great shape and the other players congenial. We will definitely come back.
Ken McDonald is struggling to maintain decent conditions with the 12 dollar an hour temporary workers. The greens with terrible cup cutting and large widespread weeds on the hole course along with numerous water leaks that have turned into muddy swamps it seems that downtown mangers know nothing about golf course management and don't seem interested in learning it.
The course is fun to play and has a nice layout for the holes. Par 5 are tough and long for high handicappers. Greens could be faster and bunkers are rock hard. A sand wedge tends to bounce off the sand resulting in thin shots and skulls. You could play this course differently each time and I will play differently the next time. Also the fairways need work.
Great Golf Course
Ken McDonald is always a pleasure to play. The parking area is a bit distant from the Pro Shop but that is my only complaint. The greens were a bit slow but rolled true and were very receptive. Overall a great experience as always.
Course is in good shape especially for the summer. Played 18 in around 3 hours despite having to wait for groups ahead of us for the last 6 holes.
excellent course for the price!! we both had a great time no waiting to tee off . layout is great.. greens are slow so you just have to give a little more swing power on your chip shots. definitely play again
Condition of course and pace of play
The course was in good condition and the pace of play was less than four hours.
Great day of Golf
I enjoyed the course. The grass was well kept. The course overall was great. There were some challenging courses to keep things interesting and the variation of long pars and short pars was wonderful.
A nice, underated city-run track.
I've played here since 1999, and it is kept in better conditions than ever. I'm not a great player, so I love the parkland-style, wall-to-wall grass and wide fairways. I played at Dobson alot, similar style course - but that city now lets a private firm run it - not as good anymore!
This course located in Tempe is reasonable in price, challenging (unless you are a PGA card holder), and works well with the goal of trying to play golf with improvement and fun in mind.
Great local course-long
Ken Macdonald is a very nice course. It is not too difficult although it's rather lengthy. You can drive the golf cart into the parking lot which saves a lot of effort.
The course is in pretty good shape for middle of summer. Generally they keep good care of the greens and fairways During the summer months, the price is reasonable
Staff is friendly
1st timers - When driving to Ken Mac- be careful that you don't miss the entrance. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood
