Ken McDonald Golf Course
About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Experience playing the course
What a nice surprise playing KM! Friendly and helpful Pro Shop and restaurant staff complemented nicely the excellent experience playing the course. The greens were in excellent condition and so were most of the fairways. However, the green side bunkers were so uneven that one wasn't sure which wedge to bring. The reduced distance range balls are OK but I longed for a ball where I could get normal flight conditions on both irons and the driver. I guess they have to use the reduced distance range balls given the emergence of long drivers in teens and young adults who hit regular flight balls over the fence at the end of the range into the boonies or near golfers playing holes on the west side of the range. One can see the improvements made in the last year which make playing KM a great value. We are fortunate to have such a nice municipal course where you can complete 18 holes in less than 4 hours. I will be back with friends!!!
Very Nice Round
The cost of this course makes it very attractive and it is a nice course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Conditions were good overall.
Nice muni
First time playing! Some tee box need a little TLC the playable areas greens and fairways are good off fairways lots of bare grass but stay in the fairways nice! Will play again!
Always fun
My wife and I enjoy playing Ken McDonald. Had a continual visiting golf group ahead of us. They were very slow. Finally had to say something on 15. Then they sped up. Other than that, fun time. Played with two very nice people from Calgary.
Good Day
It was a fun course to play. Pace was really slow. Hole 8 had 3 groups on it. Staff in pro shop was very pleasant.
Nice public course
If you can stay on the fairway, a fairly easy.
But if you don't it can be a real challenge.
Good value
First time playing the course. Great conditions greens rolled nice , pace of play was the only bad part. Overall a great course for the money
Slowest round of my life
Everything was excellent except that I was paired with a 16 year old in a cart so I could not move on as he would hit a bad tee shot and rehit several times and play 2 balls on the same hole sometimes which made my foursome play 9 holes in 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Solid Muni
This place is a good local track. They just upgraded the carts finally which is awesome. The layout is engaging enough. Varying par 4 lengths which can make for challenges and rewards. Forgiving fairways. Bunkers always need work though. Greens are slowing down a lot compared to the fall/winter. Cart service didn’t start until hole 11 so that was annoying. Restrooms are out of order on hole 5. A few of the tee boxes could use a trim. Overall good value for the price.
