A good value for the money.
Pleasantly surprised for a 9 hole course at such an inexpensive greens fee. The course was in good condition and playing time was acceptable. A good value for us high handicapers!
Would not golf here again
I traveled to Arizona and wanted to get in a good round of golf. I found this golf course nearby on golflinks.com. My brother and I rented clubs, a cart and 9 holes of golf. We arrived 40 minutes before our tee time. We asked for a bucket of range balls and paid $9 for them. Before we could even get our golf cart loaded, we were paged to the first tee box. We returned to the clubhouse where a rather rude attendant said we could not hit our range balls and would forfeit our tee time if we didn't go to the first tee box even though we were still 30 minutes in advance to our scheduled time. No offer to refund our money either. Due to rude staff, and feeling a little ripped off, i would not go to this course again.
Great for money
It's a nine hole course. I played the black tees and wife played the red. The tee boxes were a little rough, fairways had brown grass, and the greens and surrounding areas were in good shape. We got off on time and the pace was ok. Also used the driving range to warm up, you can hit any club. It was in decent shape. The fairways are nice and wide, there is water on the first hole, and a rocky ravine that runs down the center. Unless you hit a really bad slice the ravine does not come into play until the par 3 at the far end where you have to hit over it. My wife is just starting out and she got over the ravine and on the green with her driver. Though it's not a par 36, it's not an executive course either. Several par 4's and a par 5. The conditions are comparable to Coronado, but it plays longer and more challenging. Also, the gentleman working the pro shop was very nice to us and we had no trouble with our prepaid golfnow reservation.
fun place for a quick nine holes
not in the greatest conditions.greens are average, but it's handy and the pace of play is good
Not bad for a quick 9
Not a bad place to go hit it around. But,course needs some love.Nice around greens.Location is at end of wash, before it goes into river.Lots of birds and wildlife in wash.Fairways not watered in season.
Great course for beginners.
Wide open course with a copule of challeging holes.
Dont waste your money
once i arrived i had to argue with the golf shop to honor the golf now price, even after i showed him my reservation on my cell the guy still was swearing about golf now and how they are inaccurate with the pricing. after 20 minutes he finally honored the price and let us go, we waited at the first tee box for another 20 minutes due to this course not abiding by tee times. its a first come first served order, there were singles ahead of threesomes, pairs before pairs, there was no concept of proper course management. i was so disgusted with this day i was pondering writing a complaint the entire round. save our money!
Good Value
It's a good course for the price. It isn't anything special. I would like to see the water hazard have water but it is AZ. The holes are short and playing 18 means replaying every hole. Not a course that I would take someone with only one week in Phoenix but definitely one that I could see myself playing on a regular basis because of it's a good value.
Pleasant course.
Rio Salado is a relatively straightforward course with a couple of challenging holes. The staff is friendly and accommodating; the conditions are sufficient for an average round, 9 holes played twice. It is an executive course, but long enough and the greens are not simple. A fun place to play, and priced just fine.
coures is in great shape.
excellent value for 9 holes, course is in great shape
Rio Salado lots of fun
good course with some difficult areas like the rock wash
