This course was great for the price. Good layout, a little sand and water to add some character.

Wild Wickenberg Wonder
The Wickenberg Golf Club is not for those who do not want a challenge. A very tight course with many interesting holes. Elevated tee boxes and elevated greens make for a great challenge. Greens in great shape. Fairways cut tight but plush. Enjoyed the round with perfect weather. My advice is this a target golf course not a grip and rip. Enjoy

Rough Shape
Course has potential but doesn't seem to get much maintenance. Great target course on the front but not so much on the back. Played the back tees (short course) but at times had difficulty geting a driver swing and a view of the fairway (trees/bushes need trimming). Appears to have been built for housing which hasn't panned out.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and rating. Admittedly our blue tees do not receive the attention that they should. This is probably because most of our play comes on the red and white tees as the blue tees are more difficult than the average golfer wants to deal with.
We will work on improving those areas of the course and hopefully, if there is a next time for you, it will be in much better condition.

Poor Value
Wickenburg Country Club is a fun coarse to play. However, it is not a “hundred dollar” coarse. Tee boxes were very uneven and bumpy. Greens were just okay. Fairways were good. Playing here before we paid much less. When booking it and seeing the cost, we thought perhaps there had been some upgrades. Staff was helpful in getting started out. If you play it you might enjoy it but it will cost you more than it should.
As someone that grew up in a Northern location, there are only a handful of golf courses worth $100. But....the Phoenix market is a different animal. For what it is worth, our rate that comes to $100 including tax is in place from 9 am to 1 pm. This also coincides with the greatest volume of member and play pass play. And then the weather is nice, it is almost impossible to get a tee time during those hours. We do offer discounted rates before 9 am and a twilight rate of $74 plus tax after 1 PM. Compared to golf courses in the immediate area, we are very reasonable in price and we are still competitive with the golf courses in the Northwest Phoenix area ... if you can get a tee time.

Challenging but fun
The course had an interesting layout, missing the fairway meant a lost ball or challenging shot. Enjoyed the round despite the windy conditions. Course could hav3 been in better shap, however. Green were fast and hard to read.
This has been a very trying year for our course conditions. Our over seed did not come in that well and then it got cold early and has never really warmed up. We can't wait for warmer weather to help the grass grow in those areas that are a little thin.

I wish we had more to go on here than just the ratings. Our course is definitely not for every golfer, especially golfers that like to swing away with driver on every hole. We hope you give it another try at some point in the future and hopefully you will have a better experience.
Awesome Challenge!
My 1st time playing this course. Unless you hit the ball a long ways, the forward tees was enough challenge for my 230 yard drives.
Easy course to get the ball up and down, on missed greens. Well manicured fairways and putting surfaces. The cart paths are dirt and rocks, 4 wheel drive isn't necessary.. -Just Saying-
Starter and Pro Shop Staff was exceptional, including our waitress in the Restaurant. Two Thumbs Up !!
My Advice:. Unless you've played Wickenburg Country Club before, choose the right club off the tee on blind doglegs. The big dog, can't always eat!!

For those that need to hit driver on every hole, it definitely has some blind shots. The course is very challenging when trying to hit those shots. There are a couple of holes with "blind" shots but MOST holes the fairway is visible from the tee and it is up to the player to figure out which club will get them there...it is not always a driver. Hope you give it another chance at some point in the future. It can be a very rewarding course when played the way it was designed.
Blind Shots Galore, but fun overall.
I used the 18-Birdies app to get a GPS view of the tee shots, which was almost a MUST. There are a lot of blind shots. The course was fun overall. A few layout issues I’d change, such as NOT having a tree almost directly in front of you in front of the tee box on No. 9 and 2 REALLY long Par-3s on the back 9.

There are a couple of blind shots from the blue tees. It is generally a best practice when playing our course to hit it in the areas that you can see and most of the holes offer that. Pushing the limits and taking some risks make the course more difficult or rewarding depending on how you hit the shot and where it ends up. It requires a level of precision that most courses do not require but it is only 6300 yards from the blue tees.
The course tends to play less difficult as you play it more so we hope to see you back out here for another try!

cold, tough day
Less than ideal weather conditions. Actually had snow flurries that delayed our 8:00 tee time. A very difficult "placemant" course. Had landing areas on many holes with very little margin for error. If you sprayed, you paid. Cart paths were desert sand. At the right price, I would recommend to a friend but many other courses I would recommend before this one.
Thank you for playing with us despite the less than ideal weather. The course takes a couple trips around to get acquainted and usually it is more friendly at that point. Many good rounds have been ruined with one bad swing.
Price is always a double-edged sword. We try to keep it reasonable for the area but we have also found that a lower price does not guarantee us more players, just less revenue from the ones that are playing. Seems like a no win!
