West at Eagle Valley Golf Course
About
The West Course at Eagle Valley Golf Course winds through the Carson City foothills at the base of the Eastern Sierra. The links-style layout features an interesting variety of holes that provide a formidable test for even the most advanced players. The fairways are lined with native desert vegetation that grows tall enough to provide some challenge and several water hazards are strategically placed throughout. The dramatic elevation changes in the rolling landscape also require forced carries. Accuracy is vital to doing well on the golf course, offering a true risk-and-reward experience. For golfers wanting a more relaxed round, Eagle Valley offers the less daunting East Course.

Eagle Valley West
The Pro Shop has a tendency to book multiple twosomes which slows the pace of play if you are a foursome. When our foursome played we had four twosomes sequentially behind us. Overall a fair price for this course.
Tough, but fair
I thought it was pretty challenging. I recommend using an app to see what is in store for each hole. 2 or 3 times we weren't sure which way to the green and there are no maps. Greens were in better shape than I expected. I'll be back.
As Always - This is a Good Deal
The staff, amenities and overall this place is a very pleasant and welcoming golf course.
The pace of play unfortunately was very slow, but understandably tolerable for a the first genuinely hot June day, albeit on the 29th. June.
Played here many times in the past via the GolfNow /TeeOff app and have been very satisfied with their member discounts. Unfortunately and since I live in NW Reno, there are not as many AM or early PM deals, otherwise I would be playing here more. The ride from NW Reno is approximately 45 miles and takes around 50 minutes with no traffic. Alternatively and preferably, I am hoping Golfnow / TeeOff will be offering more great deals for the Reno proper areas.
good day
Course was in decent shape.
Some rough fairways and a few greens in need of improvement.
Mostly in good condition and always fun to play

Like playing here, sometimes I feel it would nice to have a marshal.
We saw 2 groups of 5 playing and on the last hole we saw some kid stop as he was walking across the fairway we were on and hit my ball ob then proceeded to lie about doing it.
Great for a group, nice and slow.
Greens were in average shape, might be a bit slow for a single. Great for a group, you'll have time in between swings to socialize. Cheap beer. Id take friends on this course regularly.
EV - West
Overall a good value for the price. The course had a few rough spots due to the harsh winter we had. I would play it again.
Good course, relatively inexpensive
Good course layout with some hills and water. Greens were bumpy with som breaks. Cart girl was friendly and the beer and water were cheap.
Course needs some time
We haven't played there in 3 weeks because the course was not in very good shape, so we tried it again. Not much improvement: fairways better, greens horrible, and some sand traps need some attention. We mentioned this before and hopefully you will do this, and that is to put little white posts/poles opposite the cart paths along the fairways (not in the middle) to indicate 150yds, that way we can gauge where we are cuz we don't own a GPS tool. Don't need red or blue ones for 100 or 200, the 150 would be great!! THANKS.
Fun course to play
Greens in so-so conditions. Otherwise, was a fun course to play.
Eagle Valley West
Nice course I’ve played many times. Not in top condition because of excess water drainage from surrounding mountains. One problem with layout makes it sometimes possible for players to start on the back nine by jumping ahead of golfers making the turn to the back nine. This has been a long standing problem that has not been adequately prevented and it causes considerable irritation to players who properly follow the rules.
