East at Eagle Valley Golf Course
About
The East Course is one of two championship courses at Eagle Valley Golf Course. Although it is less challenging than the West Course, it offers the same quality and entertainment. Golfers who aren't ready to take on the West will feel comfortable on the East. Situated at the base of the Eastern Sierra in the heart of the Silver Country, the golf course offers scenic views that complement the rustic setting. The layout is wide open, making it ideal for beginning to intermediate players. There are some long holes and a few bunkers but it is a forgiving course that is great for a casual round.

Good basic golf
The east course at Eagle Valley is probably the easiest course in all of northern Nevada, but sometimes that is just what you need to work the kinks out of your golf swing after a long winter. Generally flat, not very long, with big flat greens and very little trouble. A great course for beginners and higher handicappers. I played on Wednesday May 3 shortly after noon with a great Golfnow deal of only $25. The course was very busy and play was slow, so I just slowed down my pace and enjoyed the afternoon. The fairways had some rough patches which is to be expected after a record breaking winter, but hey, a few dandelions here and there add a little color to the experience. The greens were in much better condition. They were pretty hard by mid afternoon, but they rolled smooth and true.
Golf isn't always about high dollar championship layouts with million dollar clubhouses and perfectly manicured fairways. To be honest, sometimes they are just too expensive and intimidating to really be enjoyed. If you want to relax and really get back to the roots of the game, I recommend Eagle Valley East. Take the kids. Take your wife. Take your dad. Just don't take yourself too seriously, and have a great time.
Flat, open, hard to lose balls.
Eagle Valley East is great for a spring tune up round. There are very few water hazards and the layout is fairly flat and wide open, making it fairly easy to keep your ball in play.
Unfortunately they still haven't done any work on correcting the horrific cart paths and several holes still have large ditches from water runoff. The sand (gravel) traps will completely ruin your sand wedge as they're filled with rocks and over watered making them very hard.
Fairway on 10 needs work, approach on 18 is in horrible shape. Course was in pretty good shape otherwise I’ll be back. Staff is always cool and friendly! Duncan will tune it up as the warm weather comes.
Great TeeOff / GolfNow Deal
Great deals from TeeOff /GolfNow.
For the money via the online deal, this is one of the better ones in the Reno / Carson Valley area.
Both of the Eagle Valley GCs ( East and West) are not exceptionally “great courses” but for the money, the staff and playing conditions, this is my go to course. I can play here with some type of online discount, rewards and/or credit for ~$20 for 18 holes, including a cart.
And if you live in Reno, the gas prices in Carson Valley is often 35 - 50 cents a gallon cheaper. ( using Safeway, Maverick, Costco as comparison vendors).
Poor Drainage
On the East course there is very poor drainage in many areas that needs to be addressed.
Good course and in pretty fair condition given all the weather recently. Course was very friendly and forgiving.
Great Course to improve your game
Great course for beginners to hone their skills. Pace of play is great, never had to wait for group in front. You are on honor code to tee off at your assigned time as there is no announcement or warnings from the Pro shop.
Bunkers need work as they have been rock hard in times playing this course. Great and fun course, not too challenging until you play hole 18 where it’s a 100 yard swamp in front of the green.
December Golf on the East
Eagle Valley is just a solid golf value and this operation shows it. The “Ego” Valley East course is where u go to be rewarded for those warm up rounds. The West Course well that will just punish u for a good shots. The greens are fair but the sand should be played as GUR. Thanks Jeff for the great service. .
Nice course!
Other than a couple of over watered areas the course is in excellent. Great greens and amazing views also.
