Wolf Run Golf Club is one of south Reno's most popular courses. The course is situated amid the Sierra Foothills, tumbling across a picturesque desert landscape sprinkled with native flora. The layout has many risk-reward opportunities and the par-3 holes are especially fun. The hilly terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing some tricky uneven lies and there is a meandering creek that slithers along the fairways. Though it's wide open, the golf course requires a bit of accuracy and some good course management. The elevated tees offer some spectacular views as well as some intimidating approaches to the fast, undulating greens. In addition to the golf course, Wolf Run also has a practice facility with a driving range and putting and chipping greens. You can also get your clubs repaired on site.

Poor management

Awful management. They created a policy to CHARGE customers playing golf for ICE, by requiring a drink purchase... In a desert... in daily 90+ degree heat (95* when we played on Saturday August 12th). We didn't need any over priced drinks, we brought water. Water which became HOT by the 5th hole. My entire group 1 by 1 all started to feel heat exhausted, and we had to leave the course by the 9th hole. Unbelievably bad policy to make, to refuse ice for a paying customer. I've never seen anything like it before. When i emailed the management about this, i received NO replies. I hope someone wakes up and changes this policy, its absolutely ridiculous. Ill never play here again. Too bad, course is in a beautiful setting, and fun to play..

Dan

Course played very well, some wetter holes than others. Personnel were friendly even with the slower play due to tournament play. Always fun to play.

Great greens

The greens were in amazing shape; the course itself…kind of soggy and torn up (fairways).

The staff we dealt with were professional, and friendly.

Toiyabe was in better shape, overall.

Wolf Run Was Excellent

We booked with ease, paid in advance and when we checked into the pro shop they knew we paid and started us on the course. The carts were clean, map scorecard included and we enjoyed ourselves. Pace of play was slower than we hoped, found out the 4-some in front of us were playing two balls each. In all, a top day for the price.

Staff and Club Members

This has been the first course I’ve been at where both Staff and Club Members were extremely helpful and pleasant. That’s not to say that the others were not, but that at the Wolf golf club it was so much so that it made an impression. I look forward to my next visit, hopefully with friends so that they too can experience the warmth that I have ^_^

Nice course!

The starter at the first tee was a grump! The pace of play was not fast, but not slow either, just average. I would recommend this course to friends and family.

Bad timing

1st group out after pga pro’s trying to qualify for Barracuda Tournament. Super fast large sloping greens with tough pin positions. Hard for me and impossible for my 34 handicap wife.

Quirky Course with frustrating greens

Course had a lot of quirky holes and the greens were overly complicated for a community course. And it was very soggy with little to no ball washers so unless you come prepared with wet towels your clubs and balls will remain muddy. Frustrating.

Fun Course - very slow

The course is a bit challenging due to the ravines/barranca in the fairways (difficult if you do not put very ball in the air). Also difficult for a first time player - knowing where the barranca's are and how far you can hit. if you play more than once, this would not be an issue.

The conditions were excellent and course fun. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful and informative. There is a starter, which is nice to keep people from jumping the line.

The amenities look wonderful - though we did not partake.

The pace of play was very bad. There was no marshall on the course to speed up very slow players.

Okay of a course.

It was an okay course first time playing it wasn’t bad beautiful in ways but very very patchy makes you feel like your playing on a high school course. The pace of play is very fast and I’m not that fast of a golfer and I felt rushed at every tee box and hole. The price was to much for being rushed at 6:18am. Now if your a very fast pace player this is your course but if your like me and not a speed demon it’s not the course for you. Safe was average.
