Green conditions
Quite poor conditions on many greens.
Fairways and tee boxes were better than average. Please make considerable improvements on putting surfaces.
Play somewhere else
The course was laid out fine. The greens were in awful condition. Sparse grass and in desperate need of being rolled. The greens were very small. Thus, maintaining them should have been much easier. There were large areas with no grass at all, on the putting surface. Very disappointed. I’ll never play there again.
Terrible Greens
The greens are solid dirt with patches of grass here and there. The ball hops the entire way to the hole. If you’re trying to keep a true score, it’s impossible. I’m not sure how they can justify charging $50-$60 with greens in that condition. $30 is all it’s worth at best. Will not be going back anytime soon. Rather pay the extra and go to Carter Plantation.
Up and coming
This course has greatly improved in the last couple of years. The greens were in great shape for this last round.
Much Better Conditions than July
I wrote a review back in July when the course conditions were not great. Fairways were the best I've seen them, greens still need work. Still too many dead spots but they did look better. It gave us home that in 2024 this course will compete with other courses in the area.
This is a Country Club?
The course welcomes “anything goes” kind of play. Not many playing had any etiquette and shouldn’t have been playing out there. The course was in rough shape and there were dead carts all over the course. I was baffled that this was even labeled as a country club to be honest. I don’t feel the need to play it again.
Needs Lots of Work for Price
Staff is great, let me start off by saying that. This is our local course. It desperately needs work for the amount of money being charged. The Northshore has a ton of golfers but only a couple of public courses. Prices should be $20 tops especially since Carter Plantation is $50-$70 to play and their course is pristine. Golf cart would suddenly stop multiple times while on cart path. Greens should not have so many dead spots this late into the warmer months. Hopefully management puts more $$ into the course for next season because it has great potential.
Horrible Staff
We brought our father to play his first round of golf today and the marshals made it a horrible experience. We were told we needed to hurry up and move along because we were holding up the group behind us. Even when they were two holes behind his. Marshals at one point told us we need “to wait and let them play through”. Upon doing this, the group that was “waiting on us” informed us that they were not and the Marshall had told them “I’ll make the group in front of you wait” for no reason at all. The Marshall actually slowed down the pace of play. Absolute joke of a staff.
Horrible shape
I’ve played this course many times, and it’s always been playable. But now, it’s nowhere near playable. Greens are horrendous. I have better greens in my backyard. Not to mention, the “green” on hole 3 is in the fairway. No way I’ll be playing here anytime soon until this course gets some major work. Not worth the price you pay to play. I don’t even think it’s worth a 20$ round right now. You’re better off going to carters.
Poor greens
The greens were in terrible shape. Can’t keep a score with greens that bad
Unbelievable!
This course is so unbelievable bad for such an up and coming area. It appears to be getting a good amount of play and the price is outrageous, one would think it would be a little better or at least playable. Must be miss allocation of funds. Put some capital into your greens and make it playable. Please.
Not worth the price. 😡
The entire course needs lots of work: tee boxes, greens, sand traps - terrible, considering the price paid.
