TPC Myrtle Beach
About
TPC Myrtle Beach, designed by Tom Fazio with assistance from Lanny Wadkins, opened in 1999 as the Grand Strand's 100th golf course.
Set south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, the golf course features an abundance of bird life and natural wetlands, which come into play on 11 holes and pine trees frame many of the holes. Tom Watson proclaimed TPC Myrtle Beach an "interesting challenge and a quiet walk in nature."

Great course.
Played Dustin Johnson's home course, TPC Myrtle Beach, today for the first time. I had a 1:12 tee time, expecting I would likely be playing with other golfers. That didn't happen. After hitting a few practice balls, the starter, Don, treated me as if I was a member. I played solo, and Don went out of his way to accommodate me starting me on the back, so no one would slow me down. I loved the layout of the course. It was in very good shape. Greens were still healing but rolled very quick and true. A few fairways had a couple bare places, but nothIng to complain about. I would definitely recommend playing this course if you are staying in the Myrtle Beach area. Thanks for a great round of golf!
Great Place
Played here last 2 summers. Incredible experience. Played with family 2 years ago. Staff was awesome. Last summer, played with buddy. We experienced deer, turkeys, and even an alligator. If you keep ball in fairway, you can score. If you miss fairway, it becomes very difficult. Greens are huge. I will play this course every summer again and again.
Top of the List
This course doesn't play or look like a beach course. This tree lined beauty has everything you could ask for in a golf course. The elevation changes blew my mind and can't think of any other grand strand courses with this attribute. I have made this one of if not the best course at the beach right beside or on top of Caledonia which is priced into the stratosphere with little discount for juniors. TPC kids play free is a great program and I will always play here and recommend it to all my friends. It has many sets of tees to make it as hard as you want. This is a quality facility with outstanding layout and conditions. This is a must ;play.
Not a Must play
Very little grass on the entire course, the staff was shocked by us asking for grass. Imagine that asking for grass on a golf course. Played 6 rounds worst course by a mile. No pin sheets handed out to the entire group. When asked about all the holes having gold flags, the starter said to use the pin that wasn't handed out. Don't waste your money on poor conditions. There was a big pile of dirty that was left in front of the 1st tee box. Only 1 worker was seen on the course. Could had some one picking up leaves that are everywhere .
A Lot of Fun!
Great course! Nice fairways with woodlands off to the sides! Best course out of the three I played at Myrtle, Wizard and Norman at Barefoot Landing.
Every thing I expected from a TCP course.
The facility was impressive and the staff is very accommodating. The course is challenging but not punishing. The Greens were the fastest I have ever played but they were very true and I’m looking forward to playing them again. It was what I expected from a course where the pros play.
A True TPC Experience
TPC Myrtle Beach is well worth whatever you pay for it. Great layout, great facilities (clubhouse, range, bar), fairways and tee boxes in really good shape. Greens were mowed real tight and they rolled true and fast!
6 hour round and staff didn't care.
This was one of the longest rounds of my life. I called the clubhouse from the 10th tee after a 3 hour front nine. They sent a ranger out who said there was nothing wrong with the pace of play???? Other than being a TPC course I see no reason to play it with so many great courses in the area. It's very tight off of the tees and just not a lot of fun. Condition was poor relative to other area courses. After the round I went into the clubhouse to let them know how slow the course was playing and the guy behind the counter told me he was to busy to talk to me. I am a 9 handicap and play about 60 rounds per year. I will not return.
Its TPC..nuff said!
Very immaculate course. Played in rain and high winds. Felt 10times more challenging. Fast greens and tight championship bermuda fairways. I will be back!
A round of golf we will remember for a long time. Great day.
Very nice clubhouse with an excellent staff. The golf course wasn't pristine, but the design is incredible and the final holes are amazing. The best challenge in the area.
Course is worth playing on it's merit.
I will not return or bring my group back. Paying to be harrassed by staff is not on my list of fun things. Everything was okay until we finished the round and had to deal with the cart return people. I refused to argue and just walked away as I came to the area to enjoy myself and the golf. I will return to Myrtle Beach but have removed TPC from our play list for the next trip. There are many courses in the area that understand customer service. I find this sad as I did like the course and the proshop personel were professional and courteous. This is the first time I have pulled a Fazio course from our play list .
Course was in excellent condition. Offered challenges for low and high handicaps. I will definitely play this course again. Great, quick greens.
A "must play" course. I really enjoyed the speed and challenges of the greens.
great greens, great track for the money.
get ready, greens were like a pool table.!! course was in great shape all around. lots of fun!!
The course is my favorite in the Myrtle beach area.
The course was in excellent condition. I was a single and played with three other singles, one my age, one younger, and one senior. The senior played from the senior tees and the rest of us played the blue tees. It was about right for me as a 15 handicap but the others indicated they would play from the white tees next time. I was hitting mid-iron to wedge to most greens. I love the views and the use on natural landscape. The wooden bridges over wetland areas were visually appealing as well as functional.
Challenging course
Very nice course difficult the first 9 holes were in much better condition then the second 9 played but fun course to play
TPC Letdown
I've played several TPC courses and this by far was in the poorest condition with the least friendly staff. There were no marshallers to help with the pace of play and on a hot steamy day in the Myrtle Beach there was no beverage cart. The course was in poor condition and the workers on the course did not yield to players. Overall, a very poorly run facility not in keeping with TPC standards. I will not play it again.
Decent course design but maintenance and better course management is required.
Reserved tee times were not adhered to. The starter allowed groups to intersperse and start late. Groups started on both 1 & 10. They did not necessarily determine whether groups were playing the same tees. My group ended up following two threesomes that were playing some form of scramble from the back tees. None of the players really seemed capable of playing from that difficulty level. To top it all off, course management decided that it was cart path only so the amount of walking required and the overall slowness of the two threesomes ahead caused an over 5 hour round of golf, with waits at every tee, every second shot, etc. The course marshal did nothing to help resolve the problem! the course should require proof of capability to play the hardest tees.
The overall maintenance of the fairways was pretty bad. There were many areas of sparse grass that should have been marked as ground under repair. They did not have any bad areas marked!
This was really a bad day that required a fairly large cost to play.
Additionally, the tee time I reserved was supposed to be "FAST" play. That being the case, I'd hate to see how long it would take to play at a normal pace!
Great design and flow of course
Condition of course was disappointing. I've played two other TPC courses which were impeccable. TPC Myrtle Beach greens and fairways were beat up, not sure if that was due to wet weather. Will try again as I did enjoy the holes and design.
great setting poor conditions
Fairways were blacked out in many spots and some tee boxes were bare. Greens were very good although recently punched and top dressed.
Course was under aireation on the greens and fairways at the same time, staff did not tell me this was the case and charged full price.
Terrible shape at ther time I played. Did not enjoy my day at all. All the other golfers I talked to had the same opinion....all were upset at the conditions and not being told about it before they paid their fee. Very unporfessional in my opinion.
My group of 8 played this course in Mid March. Same conditions. Very disappointed. Not a course for your average golfer. Save your $$$ for a more playable course, like the Wizard.
