Belleview Biltmore Golf Club
This 23-acre Victorian-style resort overlooks the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. The Donald Ross-designed Belleview Biltmore golf course was renovated in 2001 at a cost of over $2.4 million. Greens and tees were rebuilt, a new irrigation system was installed and new cart path laid. Belleview Biltmore Golf Club is the closest championship golf course to Clearwater Beach.

Belleview Biltmore closed their golf course in 2017 for an extensive remodeling job. The club plans to reopen in 2019 as a private club
We played Belleview Biltmore GC on a Saturday in late January. The weather was cloudy, cold and windy, so scoring conditions were tough! It was our first time playing the course and we were excited to play another classic Donald Ross course.
Pro shop staff were friendly and provided a course guide book which proved helpful in navigating the holes.
The back tees stretch to just over 6600 yards and 7 play longer than 395 yards with 3 longer than 435. The back in particular is the longer of the two nines at 3400 yards.
In classic Donald Ross form all of the greens were elevated with run off slopes. Most holes had cross bunkers that pinched the fairways and you think off the tee. The par fours in particular proved a good test. The par 5's all solid if not spectacular. The par 3's require strong ball striking. Severe run off on the right side of he 180 yard 8th no doubt catches its share of good but not good enough shots! The tee shot on the 5th is a little awkward from the back tee as a tree stand on right blocks the right 1/3 of the fairway, players playing a right to left ball will struggle with this one.
Overall good course and one I will play again when next in FLA. Solid classic layout. Play it you won't be disappointed.
It's not the course
I have played this course many times in past years. However, I am not commenting about course conditions today. Poor experience with a difficult club pro. Will not return at any point to play this course.
A Donald Ross Gem
I love this golf course. From the historic clubhouse to the layout and condition come step back in time and play this Donald Ross Gem.
The bunkers are strategically placed, the fairways have subtle twists and turns and the greens are in great shape.
It's like stepping back in time- I half expected to look across the fairway and see Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen.
Donald Ross Course
Was expecting greens to be wasted as per previous reviews and comments, but found them to be very good, very fast and true. The fairways for the most part were very good . Quite a few tee boxes were dried out and looking sparse, made footing difficult. The beverage cart going around was well stocked, but no sandwiches or any types of fruits. Good assortment of beers. Came around frequently. Played in 3 3/4 hrs and had to wait numerous times for the 4some in front. Would come back . Good layout, nice bunkers, fast greens. Only found 1 green with issues and it was marked .
Enjoyed the round
Greens were average speed. Fairways were average to maybe slightly above average. Tee boxes were a little beat up and slightly unlevel on a few holes. Sand traps were very well maintained and well placed. The course layout was fair to the golfer. Overall the course was maintained well. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I would recommend this course. I was in the Treasure Island area for a brief vacation and this course was close by.
Played a fast round with a twosome.Course flows nicely and would be a comfortable walk.
It was a little dry(some brown areas)but it played well.I thought the greens were tame for a Ross course.
Second Time Around I Enjoyed the Course More
Played the course several years ago and was not sure I liked it. This time around I enjoyed it.
Price for 9 was right, course was in good shape and it could be my new 9 hole later in the day course!
You must at least try it since it is new on golfnow!
Nice course for the money
Well kept course with fast greens and good sand in the traps. Tees were in rough shape. Overall would play again.
Beautiful round of golf!
I Forgot my putter and the gentleman handling the carts provided me to use without charge. I highly recommend.
Good value for the money
A lot of history here (1925 Donald Ross design) so have been wanting to play for some time and finally played our first round at BB. Very well maintained bunkers - no hard-pack like I find way too often. Staff was great.
well worth a visit
Played as a two ball after 2pm for $25. A good layout and fairly open off the tees. Greens had been hollow times probably a week or so ago but putted pretty well. Fairways very bare in patches and some teeing areas were more like the rough but cut shorter. Par three tees particularly poor. Staff were efficient if not friendly. Overall glad we played this old style layout and at $25 was excellent value. Would play again if we were in the area.
my friend and I decided to make the 45 minute drive and play this historic golf course.overall the course layout was very nice. Unfortunately the Greens have been punched recently. the pro shop failed to inform us of this as we paid. it probably wouldn't have changed our mind since we had driven so far but it still would have been nice if they were looking out for us. good pace of play was very smooth since there weren't many people on the course some of the tee boxes were a little bit rough but other than that the fairways were nice. I would play there again if the greens were in better shape
Classic course, Donald Ross design.
I really enjoy playing this course. great layout, most holes are open, which i prefer since i love trying to kill my driver. really well placed bunkers, greens are normally fast and true. 18 is probably my favorite finishing hole in the area, really challenging up hill shot from the fairway with a tough green and lots of danger to the right. the facilities are really good here with excellent food. i highly recommend this course.
Great Donald Ross Course
I highly recommend playing this course if you are in Clearwater,Fl and only have time for one round. This should be the place to go!
A rare Ross course open to the public
Anytime you have the chance to play a Donald Ross course, you take it, and the Belleview-Biltmore course that dates back to 1925 is no exception. Rescued, at least temporarily, by the city of Belleair, this course is also very affordable, in pretty good shape and has those unmistakable Ross greens, which are difficult to figure out for veterans, much less first-timers. Best of all, this is a fun design with lots of interesting holes, even if you didn''t know it was a Ross design.
