Tanna Farms Golf Club
About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Hot and Windy Round
Refer to my review of 4/29/17 for other comments. This season Tanna is in decent shape except for the sand traps. All of them are complete hard pan from what I found. Greens are okay and roll nicely. Fairways are fine...tees a bit chewed up. No range no locker room/showers. Small practice putting green with sticks and the initial hole is is island par 3. Not the kind of hole you want to start on with no warm up. Routing does not come back to the clubhouse after nine so provision up if there's no nurse. Beverages are a tad pricey. Porta pottys and no water jugs on course. A short sporty par 34 front and a long finish par 37. We finished at a 440 pace but waited virtually all round. The course behind us was backed up even worse and teeing off in the afternoon guaranteed a 5 hour plus plus pace. Blue tees even at 6033 are too much for most players as there are a couple of 175 yard plus carries off the tee. Play the whites if you want to enjoy your day. I think the course is "under sloped" a tad.
Very little shade to be had on hot days. The par 5 15th plays through a newer housing development featuring yapping small dogs greenside for ambiance. Course has some quirky holes that you have to play a couple of times to understand them. Worth a play once a year. $30 value.
Out on the Farm Again
Played once again at Tanna Farms this past weekend, and was just a great deal for the dollars spent. It's an interesting layout, with a number of Par 3's, but it was in great shape and played much tougher in a constant strong northerly wind.
Great time and fun layout!
My second time playing Tanna Farms and enjoyed it as much or more than the first time. The beautiful weather and playing partners added to the joy of the experience but this is definitely a course we will add into our regular rotation. Only small negative comment was the slow greens due to needing to be mown. Saying that they were all consistent and putted true for the most part.
Challenging but fun course
Had a good time on a great weather day. Having a beverage cart is a great thing. Tough course for a beginner for sure but is a good yardage strategy play for the intermediate
Incredible value
This course is really nice. A little different layout than you expect as the first hole is a par 3! And there are 4 par 3's on the front 9! But it was a very good place.
Great time
Nice course. Not big on trees but wetlands water and sand traps aplenty
great pace of play
1st twilight time on a Sunday and finished in 3 hr 20 min, Was awesome to play at that rate and not have to wait on this given day. Had 2 4 somes a hoel ahead but we never quite caught them
Disrepair
Seems like the course has fallen on some bad times. They do have new carts but you need them to slog through the water on the cart path a the rough portions of the path. They did improve #13.
