Previously known as The Jackal Golf Club at Mt Brighton. Sprawling across a majestic landscape covered with spring-fed ponds and mature oaks, The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton offers a challenging round as well as stunning scenery. The golf course shares the grounds with a ski resort, guaranteeing a variety of dramatic elevation changes throughout. Club selection is the key to doing well on this course. Accuracy is also an important factor. The tricky greens are balanced by generous, player-friendly fairways. Acres of natural wetlands, including a cascading waterfall, have been incorporated into the design. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The layout opens with a dramatic, downhill par 4 that offers a panoramic view of the course. In addition to the golf course, The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton also offers a grass driving range.

a new favorite
only 4 or 5 holes that were average the rest were very nice lots of differences elevation being chief among them great deal day of play
great challenge course.
Fun course with a real challenge. Excellent condition of both fairway & green. Will be better the second play.
Bring your "A" game
Really enjoyed the elevation changes and flag placements. The started was very nice and gave great tips.
Great course with some substantial elevation changes
Played this for the first time, and really enjoyed myself. I was mainly interested in hitting off from a couple elevated tees, and was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the course. Most of the fairways and greens have nice rolling hills and the course looked like it was in pretty good shape to me. The elevated tees were pretty interesting. We ran into some sandhill cranes out on the course, which was nice. And, we snagged a hot deal on here for about $20/person. Oh, and the bloody marys at the club house are tasty!! A bit expensive though.. But, at the end of the round, you can get a domestic pint for what you shot on your round, which was the cherry on top for me :)
Nice views, tough greens, great course.
Loved the course, its a ski slope so expect mountains to climb, nice course , good set-up, hole one is beautiful, if you can shortcut it, do it, i was almost on the green on my drive, i usually hit it anywhere from 250-275 max, good hole to start a good rnd, tough greens, hole placement makes for some interesting chips , dont trust the yardage on all holes, cart has a book/layout of the course hole by hole, showing water hazards, sand traps...Have fun and enjoy, i would recommend it, and will be back if the price is right bob!
Great course for the money!!
Great course although a bit short for longer hitters. No driver until the 7th hole. I love the back nine here. The par 5s are tough with great risk / reward opportunities. Greens are some of the best around, rolling true & pretty fast (but playable). Enjoy!
Great round
Very tough course but played well and enjoyed the round.
Shot 83.
Golf on a ski slope
I was a single following an outing so a lot of waiting but still played in @4 1/2 hours. Staff was very nice. Challenging course with lots of trouble. Hole#18 can really mess up a good score.
Very nice course
For early in the season it was in good shape. Could see work being done around several holes.
Jackal
Lots of work being done on the ski areas of this property and the golf course has suffered some. They have had to make some changes on holes due to the addition of new ski lifts. Hopefully when they finish their construction phase the course will be back to its prior shape. It still remains very challenging and the greens were in good shape. Plenty of elevation offers stunning views of the surrounding area of Brighton.
A beautiful course in the in the hills of Brighton
A stunning golf course! Not easy yet with the rite shot you can score. Beautiful... That sez it all!!!
A+
The Jackel is a beautiful course very challenging, I highly recommend anyone to play this course just once ! And you'll be hooked too !! A++
Fun and challenging
Played the Jackal. Some construction ongoing but nothing that really affected any of the holes significantly. Liked the course very much. Real nice variety of holes. It was in good condition overall. Green speed was very fair and ball rolled well. Definitely on my list of courses I would play again.
Great Layout but currently is a construction zone
This course flows up down and around a ski mountain, which is currently under major construction for new chair lifts. They've understandably put off any course improvements or maintenance. The layout is wonderful and I would love to return AFTER the noise and dust of the heavy machinery. This is truly a unique SE Michigan course and has great potential if they want to shift focus from ski to golf in a later phase. Note to owners: the metal stairway to restaurant in back seems archaic and I would recommend some updating of the clubhouse setup to keep up pace of play when making the turn.
Nice course
Parts of the course under construction. Was extremely wet due to all of the rain and was cart path only. Slowed pace down. Staff was extremely courteous.
Unfriendly staff
First off I would like to say that the course was well taken care of for the most part. The course is built on and around a ski hill which is being renovated but I would like to say they are doing a great job keeping the course intact with all of the renovations around it. With that said the course has a great layout with some holes having tee boxes on the top of the ski hill and having to hit down it was a great and challenging experience having to judge the elevation. The only complaint I have about the course itself would have been on hole one which neither one of us could get our tees in the ground without utilizing our clubs for hammers but the attendant reported they are going to renovate that during the off season. Now maybe it was just a long day but the hotdogs at the course were $3.50 which was just a little pricey for a regular hot dog to me, so value golfer pack your lunch.
Now on to the real downside about the day, we were behind a ladies group of three but it was the male twosome in front of them that was holding everyone up. The course ranger came around at least 4 times and not once asked the group holding everyone up to speed up in any form. Also I would like to add I noticed was him twice floating around in random areas just picking up shanked balls. Then around hole 14 the ranger came to us and told us that we had to be done in 30 minutes, while still being backed up. I asked why we had to be penalized for others playing extremely slow. He said "I don't know but you have to be done in 30 minutes" . I asked if he is able to speed up the players in front of us and he just drove away. I think he was very unprofessional and I understand that the course has final time when all carts have to be in by but he could have done what he is getting paid to do and kept the pace of play at a relatively faster rate and not have been rude when he was asked to speed up the players holding everyone back.
Different type of lay out
With a course built around a ski slope I guess you could expect some differnt gimicky holes. The course was in good shape, greens could use some TLC,our group must have fixed 20 ball marks per green. I guess you get that with the amount of play they get. Other than that they were in fairly good shape and rolled fairly well. Some really good holes, a lot of lay up holes. On many you put the driver away and hit a hybrid. That is due to lakes, creeks and marsh. Some holes are tight but playable. Not as difficult a course as I was told. Fairway traps make it interesting. Many side hills lies, even in the middle of the fairway. Course was in good shape, they water it alot becuase even with no rain some places were very wet, they are trying to keep it look nice. All in all it was a fun course, you cannot blast away, more of a target golf course. We were the second group out and played very fast.
looking forward to the upcomming changes
I'd like to play it again soon . Before i forget the layout.
Construction
The entire course is under construction with the exception of a couple par 3's. Poorly labeled, felt lost with construction traffic. Construction equipment in almost every shot, nice course, but wouldn't recommend for the rest of this season.
Under construction
Course was tore up and some tee boxes were moved around due to the construction around the slopes. However, this is a course that I have played many times and will continue to do so.
