Previously known as The Jackal Golf Club at Mt Brighton. Sprawling across a majestic landscape covered with spring-fed ponds and mature oaks, The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton offers a challenging round as well as stunning scenery. The golf course shares the grounds with a ski resort, guaranteeing a variety of dramatic elevation changes throughout. Club selection is the key to doing well on this course. Accuracy is also an important factor. The tricky greens are balanced by generous, player-friendly fairways. Acres of natural wetlands, including a cascading waterfall, have been incorporated into the design. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The layout opens with a dramatic, downhill par 4 that offers a panoramic view of the course. In addition to the golf course, The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton also offers a grass driving range.

Challenging but fun course
We played Mt Brighton on May 6th after having a heavy rain for the 2 previous days. The course was surprising dry. The first hole, you tee up on the top of the ski hill, from there the fun doesn't stop. A lot of challanging holes, and if you play good course management you will get around just fine. We have 15-25mph winds which made the round much more challenging. For the start of spring time in Michigan, the conditions were amazing! I love how water is an obsticle on just about every hole. The staff at Mt Brighton were second to none. From when we walked into the pro shop to the ranger monitoring the course to the staff in the bar were all extreamly friendly and easy to get along with. we traveled about an hour to get to the course (courses around us were not letting out carts due to the ground being so wet) and all agreed we will be back a few more times before the season is over. Their carts are quite and very responsive. Not to mention, they had windshields and USB charging ports on the carts (this is a huge plus). GPS on my watch was accurate as well. We will defiantly be back to golf Mt Brighton real soon. Hats off to the staff at The Golf Club at Mt Brighton and the course conditions.
Golf Club at Mt. Brighton
The staff was most helpful and friendly, answering all of our questions and offering their assistance. The facility clubhouse certainly had everything a golfer would want and a "buffet" served hot dog bar and side items.
It was very cold, with a frost warning, and also fairly early in the season. The course was in remarkable condition when considering the time of year and weather conditions.
Beautiful course
I golf here multiple times a year. When the leaves have peaked in the fall is absolutely stunning. I love playing this course it's my favorite one I play every year. The only thing I am bummed about is since they changed names They've moved the tee boxes down on the 1st and 11th hole which is a bummer it takes away from the beauty and elevation change I hope they move them back!
Work for it
The back nine is much more enjoyable than the front nine. If you don't hit perfectly straight, bring extra balls for the front nine. We paid $22 via GolfNow and that's what it was worth. Not sure why course Aerate their greens so early in the season. It makes for a bad round of putting and if you aerate you owe your customers a refund since they are losing a third of their round due to aeration. Add to that no mowing or rolling...well, I doubt Ill play here again.
Great Value
Beautiful Course. Well Maintained. Very Friendly Staff.
Refreshing Starter/ranger made all the difference
Takes me back to the days when the starter /ranger made your golf experience better !!
Seems simple but how often do we notice the ranger NOT making it a positive experience?
Arrived on the 1st tee @ 9:50 as a 2some on a Saturday. The starter/ranger looked at his tee sheet and advised us "go off the back 9 ,its wide open & by the time you make the turn the first few holes will still be open ." They were. He was spot on.We Played the round in just under 4 hrs on a Saturday. Nice !!
First shot course. Very tight fairways. Being at a ski resort, of course there are the crazy elevations on a few tee shots . Other than that very nice layout. Excellent condition. Very good experience.
Thankful for a common sense starter/ranger !!!
Give that man a raise .Many courses have left out the starter/ranger and the golfers experience suffers from it. ie shepherds hollow 6hr round etc
Need Better Course Maintenance
This course could be much nicer with better course maintenance. Sand traps were in terrible shape. Not sure if they have been raked all year. Some nothing more that hard dried mud. Also a lot of weeds around the greens. Took almost 5 hours to play 18. Ranger nowhere to be found to keep players moving.
????????
Not sure how to review this course. Goofy golf on front side while back is better. 7/9 are set on ski slopes. Just never got comfortable on this Course.Greens are OK if you can see it on your second shot!
What a Blast
To think a golf course with these changes of elevation is so close to Metro Detroit is crazy. The course is very challenging, no hole looks the same and even with the ski lifts surrounding you it is still just beautiful! Bring a winning attitude and be ready for anything. Love it!
Bad Timing
Great course, tough layout target golf at its best.
Unfortunately behind an extremely slow golf outing. Outing teed off at 130pm. Beginner golfers everywhere on course. Outing finished golfing at 745pm. Unacceptable and could have been managed better.
I really like the course. I wish time management on outings would be enforced
Exceeded Expectations
The course exceeded my expectations. A lot of elevation changes as you would expect on a ski mountain, but without being gimmicky. Well maintained and will definitely play again.
Rangers
Rangers were horrible, they kept telling us to play faster when we couldn't because of the groups ahead of us. One ranger told us to hit, I was 165 out and people were on the green. Horrible experience, great course but will never go back.
great bargain and challenge
THE COURSE IS CHALLENGING FOR PLAYERS OF ALL LEVELS. IT IS IMPORTANT TO CAREFULLY PICK THE TEES YOU PLAY FOR YOUR ULTIMATE ENJOYMENT OF THE COURSE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR WALKERS DUE TO THE TERRAIN SHIFTS. VIEW ALL OVER THE GOLF COURSE ARE SPECTACULAR. IT IS A "MUST PLAY" COURSE. ROE RICHARDSON
The only thing missing was a windmill.
Tee boxes and fairways greens were nice and the greens were quick and very smooth. Sounds great! Too bad the layout favored luck over skill. Don't bother bringing your Driver since a 260 yard tee shot leaves you behind a giant tree in the middle of the fairway!
Very enjoyable!
I have played the front a couple of times but this was the first time I played the whole course and I must say it was truly an enjoyable time. Course was in good shape, some traps looked like they could use some sprucing up but all in all the course is in nice shape. Never saw a range but the pace of play was surprisingly good in spite of how busy it was. Definitely will return!
Love the layout!
Great layout. Greens are soft and moderate speed. Ball placement is key. Looking forward to playing again.
Great conditions
The golf course although being challenging was in excellent condition, the greens were fast and smooth. Once you get over the hill this is a beautiful peace of property! Pace was good and the staff was very friendly.
Nice course with great Marshal
My wife and I booked a tee time through Golfnow.com with an 8:48a tee time. We checked in and were advise that at the 1st tee will be 3 three groups in front of us. We took our time riding up the hill to the first tee. The tee had 6 golfers who had 4 bags total in their carts. All 6 of the guys hit more than one ball, and proceeded to play as a 6some. Before we arrived on the first green, a marshal arrived and stated he would take care of the 6some. The marshal advised that the group was part of a bachelors party, and they would try to speed things up by playing g best ball, and only play as 3somes. We inquired if it would be possible to skip a few holes to speed things vs up. The marshal was able to put us on hole 5, and it was smooth sailing the rest of the round. The course is a very scenic course, and is difficult at times. The greens were nice and fast. On the carts, my wife and I noticed a flyer that had information on the courses restaurant and specials. When we finished golf, we went into the grill and the cook was able to cook us what we wanted. We advised the bar tender that we were both ordering the chicken sandwich combo that was listed on our golf card. The bar tender stated that those prices were no longer good, and that the flyers in the cart were old. She did however make sure we got what we ordered at the stated price in the carts. She stated she would do anything for us to make us happy. She was great, as was the cook. The lunch was really good, and so was the price. We will return to the Golf Course at Mt. Brighton.
A fun course with it's features!
This course has some challenging holes due to elevation changes. It's built on a ski resort. Keeping your ball in play is key here, the fairways are fair in size but trouble is found if strayed from. golfers that hook or slice the ball should bring extras. Greens are relatively flat. Fairways and greens are in good condition but the sand traps are quite gravelly (small stones). We played on a Saturday mourning and there was a cart girl out and about which was nice, and a ranger kept the pace of play moving. I am a repeat customer thats not from the area because it is a fun and challenging course for the money!
Excellent Greens
For early in the year greens are in great shape. Staff very friendly and ranger present throughout the round. Teed off early and never waited on a shot. All in all a good experience
It's actually skill over luck, there are some layup holes for sure but this is a shot makers course and always in good shape.
