Well-maintained

Very nice course. Wide open but rough can be penalizing. Front 9 somewhat different from back 9. Had early tee time and finished in around 3 hours (two-some). Would have enjoyed the course more but there were maintenance folks all over the course...at least 2 or 3 on every hole. I inquired and was told that they do full cuts of the course every Mon, Wed and Fri morning. Was told most of the maintenance equipment should be done by 10:30 - 11:00am. Would definitely recommend this course, just be mindful of maintenance schedule when making a tee time.

Great place to play

I have played this course a few times. The staff is always very friendly. This time I played as a single and once encountered a group in front that I had to wait for. After following them for 2 holes they waved me up and let me play through. Pace of play here is always good. Course can be a little tough if you don't find the fairway. Course is always in great condition. They also have a great practice area with driving range and both putting and chipping greens with sand traps.

Too bad the funding ran out

I played King's Walk towards the end of my week long golf trip and my swing was in shambles by this point. The course was fun and stretched out well. It feels long but really isn't too bad. Big rolling hills off the fairways.
I was paired up with two locals who grew up together and they were at each other's throat most of the round. This really affected my feelings walking away from this course. I'd love another crack at it on a day that I could play solo.
Apparently the funding for King's Walk ran out from what the Arnold Palmer group allotted so there are some holes that were partly his design and partly not. It gives a strange flow to the course. Of course I wouldn't have known this if it wasn't for the local knowledge in my group. Once it was pointed out you can tell the weird differences between a legend golfer and some local design group ideas.
The course was in great condition. Plenty of restrooms / water coolers, and even saw a marshal several times.
The difficulty on this course is the fescue rough and the greens can be a little tricky too.
